I am sending this note to the competitor community in the hopes that you will forward it to whomever you know that is "new" to racing and still needs to apply for a CASC-OR competition licence.

As you know, the most important element of the race licence application is the driver's on-track experience.  In the last couple of years, thanks to Ray Arlauskas, the Chief Regional Race Instructor, we've increased the number of licences that we are granting based on "observation", instead of attending a school.  The schools are still very important and may provide someone new to the sport with a quick way to accumulate on-track experience.

Greetings and salutations to the CASC-OR competitor community.  Believe it our not, the "off season" is half over - there are only 100 days until we start the 2017 Road Racing season on May 13 at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the Spring Trophy Races (registration will be open soon).

Before the season starts, to get people in the mood and up to date on any rule and sponsor changes, we will be having a Pre-Season Drivers' Meeting on March the 4th at 11:00 am.  The folks at Paragon Competition (http://www.paragoncompetition.com/) have generously offered to host this event.  More details will follow in the next few days.  This advance notice is just so you can keep the date open...
