The 14th Annual Judy Brunner Memorial Slalom took place May 27th  at the Picton Airport, hosted by the St. Lawrence Automobile Club. The event served as round 2 of the Mobil1 Autoslalom Championship Series presented by Toyo Tires and followed on the heels of a hugely successful first round at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, DDT, hosted by Trillium Chapter of the BMW Club of Canada.

With 91 entries and a whopping 518 runs completed the Series recorded another great event. This round of the Championship sees the longest slalom course of the season, using all three runways of the airport. The added challenge of both mental and physical fatigue tested competitors way beyond the normal intensity of slalom competition.

A third of the field managed to break the two minute barrier, Paul K eclipsed the barrier by nearly 10s and had the fastest run of the day at 110.028s, Trung D and Mike A were the runners up at more then a second behind. In the PAX battle Trung D and Paul K were runners up to Pawel M who in his only clean run of the day managed a factored time of 95.607s in his STZ Miata.

In true grassroots motorsports fashion, the marshals were kept busy, with this expansive, fast course and cars arriving every 30 seconds or so. Nearly 30% of the runs had at least one cone knocked down (225 cones down over 152 runs).. 47 runs had two or more cones knocked out of place and there were only 12 rerun's needed on the whole day. The marshals showed a lot of hustle keeping the course ready for the packed grid. This all helped keep the day on track and to wrap the event just after 4.30PM.

The next event in the Championship series is a little less then a month away on Sunday June 24th. Event 3 is hosted by Twin Lakes Motor Club (TLMC) at the Barrie Molson Centre.
