I don't think this could possibly make it through the commons, but that's just my opinion. I'm signing it anyway.

I've checked the legislation. It has had 1st reading. There are a couple of interesting omissions. First of all, there is no definition of "prescribed" (should this not be "proscribed?") equipment which is considered illegal. There are definitions for almost everything elses. We need to mount a concerted opposition to this legislation before it gets 2nd reading and is sent on to committee. An Internet petition is not going to do it. We each need to write a letter to our individual MP's detailing why this is a bad piece of legislation. We need to include the rally group, CASC, the track owners and other groups affected by this. There appears to be room here for a constitutional challenge. Are there any lawyers in the group willing to take this on??? No action on our part could be fatal. to our sport

I posted my letter to the MCO forums if people want a model (I'd give the URL but the MCO site seems unreachable right now.)

The RSO President, Paul Henshall, has written Premier Eves. (This is way more a potential problem for rallyists - although I did find out about the law from Jeff Graves, our Solo1 rep. Thanks Jeff!)

I have talked to people in the Ministry of Transportation, evidently all they know is they want to ban Nitrous.

Recommendations from the Ministry PR people are to send letters to the Minister of Transportation, saying that your sanctioned, governed, motorsport may be inadvertently affected by this legislation. That way there may be committee after second reading, and someone from Solo1 can make a presentation.
