hi nick, i went to marco at magnus for a quote on a

haltek e6k installed...
4x nippon 756cc injectors
fuel rail for above....

they quoted me $6200cdn....

does that seem in line?

it seems a bit high IMO

what did you pay for your halteck

anyone else have any experiance with standalone systems?

it turns out my JWT ecu will be limited to 550cc injectors and about 420BHP...that is why i am looking at this other option....

problem is...
the Jim Wolf Technology ECU system...
with ...
4x 550cc msd injectors
1x custom ecu
1x ford cobra mass air flow meter..

only comes to $895 us....and is fully tuned from the box...ahhhhhhh

Sounds high - but not by a lot.

I'll give you my comments / thoughts on Haltek stand-a-lone vs Jim Wolf ECU when I get more time later this weekend.

Meanwhile - big question - did that price $6,200 included any tuning / setup?

How does a full stand alone and all your other mods fit in with the points and staying in SP ?

i went with the 550 cc JWT system using a 4 bar fuel pressure...it is rated for 420bhp use(that will be enough to beat the v8's i think)...and i still have 2x 480cc auxillery injectors that "could" be brought on line...

its a simple plug and play system...so it workd out better for me...and its like.. $4700cdn cheaper..which is a huge PLUS>>>>

thanks

I'm not sure what exactly the application would be (sequential or batch fire injection, etc.) so I can't recommend a specific Perfect Power unit.
The PRS starts at $1295 plus install.
It is a complete standalone ECU with assignable outputs.
Built in injector drivers, up to 6amp.
Depending on the amount of outputs you need you would be looking at the PRS 4 or 8.
Calibration of stock sensors is possibe in most casses.
Closed loop lambda funtion.

Of course, many other features!

Click Perfect Power (http://www.perfectpower.com) or Canspeed.com (http://www.canspeed.com) to check it out.

That's incredibly expensive. My E6K was $1087.00 USD. If this is an RX7, there are a few install guides, and base maps. It's really not hard to install yourself with only a little bit of technical knowledge.

Tuning is another matter. It's not the easiest thing in the world.

Of course, the E6K is already obsolete. The E11 has already been released in Oz.

How many points is a stand alone under the current system?

Does it fall into the maximum 7 points for turbo addition or mods to a turbo car?

Adding a standalone should be different and more points than just adding some fuel enrichment such as an AFC.
