The only insurance worth investing in is taking track schools.

If you could find an insurance company willing to insure your car while you are lapping a race track they will likely charge you almost as much as the value of your car ;)

All the insurance companies I have knowledge of will drop you like ahot potatoe if they catch wind that your car was on track( this is why lic plates are removed at lapping events) no pics no proof. There is insurance available but it costs more than most racecars, something like 5 grand a weekend. I agree with above the best insurance is an advanced racing school.:)

Chubb, as a rider on your regular automotive insurance. No timing or participation in competitive events allowed.

FYI, although it is just for Porsche club memebers, I just saw a quote (not for me) for this year from Laurel (http://www.laurelde.com) on another forum.

I just called them. For my 1997 993 worth $42,000 they quoted the following for one calender year of coverage:

10 DE days $1250
20 DE days $1575
30 DE days $1830


The clock starts ticking from your first DE day. The event must be in a DE format similar to PCA (but does not have to be a PCA event). ie. rules for passing, no timing or racing etc. There is a 15% deductible on any claim.

Rates have gone up since there were alot of DE claims in 2006.
