View Full Version : Where to buy 13x8 wheels?

I'm not looking to spend a fortune, but I'd like a set of 4x100 wheels that will fit my 91 CRX. I'd like to run a 215/50/13 and a 6" rim just doesn't cut it. Steel wheels are fine.
No big dollar suggestions please, although it's nice to dream, it's not in the budget.
No US stuff either, too much hassle, I'd prefer to buy within Canada.
Thanks

ask G if his wheels are for sale...
He has a naked set of 13x8's...
I happen to know where they are... and they'll be in Minden next weekend...
Worth a holla...

If steelies are OK, CSC Racing sells Diamond wheels, and Grisdale sells Aero and others. The spun shell ones are not too heavy, and cost about $100 per wheel. I think the Diamonds have more room for calipers.

Check AERO race wheels, they had an overstock sale going on awile ago-I picked up a set of 13x10's for $30 each. The Diamonds are usually the lightest of the steel wheels and the AERO's seem to be in about the middle compared to the other steel wheel companies.

What's the deal with getting 4x100 though? I went on their site and I have no idea what bolt pattern to get or what backspacing, for my CRX.
I'd love to buy a set,the price is amazing, but I don't want to order what I don't need, would it be worth calling them, would they even know what 4x100 is?
Where is Aero located?

Most steel wheels from the states are designed for oval racing...its no surprise they've never heard of or made a fitment for your CRX.

So I figure I can get away with a set from Aero for 120$ US + shipping but they're only 13x7 with a 4" backspace meaning 3" sticking out, not too bad, still lets me run 215 Hoosiers without much grief.
Do Miata wheels fit Hondas? I know they're 4x100 but I assume the backspacing would be quite different and the hub centre would be different.
What is the stock backspace on a Miata wheel?

Miatas can get away with less offset than civics can. The lenso VPD wheels Dave posted are only 25mm offset and will fit under stock miata fenders. Also the miata hub center is smaller (everything that's 4x100 is smaller than a civic AFAIK). Thus Civic rims fit Miatas, but not necessarily the other way around.
I too am in the market for 13x8's. There are very few options.

You are considering ordering $120 USD + shipping rims that are 13x7
instead of buying my used 13x8 rims that would fit your CRX perfectly and is honda hub centric

G, 120$ US and 350$ Can. are a bit different. Your wheels, while sweet, are pretty pricey for used wheels. And although the Aeros are 13x7, that's OK for the tires I hope to use. Plus the Aero's are new. I have a line on some other alum. 13x8's with 2 sets of tires for not much more than what you're asking for steel with no tires.
Sorry, but I am the cheapest man alive.

Well I'm assuming that Tom is running slicks.
But there are the the Kumho V70A Ecsta which comes 235/45R13 for a 7.5 - 9" rim.

Yep slicks, same size as I ran at the nationals last season. They are still pretty fresh but they are cantilevers designed for a 7" wheel and I could feel a fair bit of flex so I'm going to try the tires designed for the 10" wheel.
I want to compare the 2 tire designs with back to back testing to see if there is actually a performance improvement, the cantilevers can become club event tires if they don't stack up.

The 13"x8" rims will fit your car but they will stick out of your fender, this is not allowed in stock class. If your suspension is too soft it may rub your fenders but they didn't rub when I used them on my Insight a number of times. If you still want them let me know, just PM me.
