I finally got around to the pictures that Sonia took on Sunday August 6th, 2006, at the 2006 Canadian Autoslalom Championships.

She just came out for the Sunday afternoon to visit, spectate a bit and took a few pictures since the event was close to home. I do believe they are just the second and third run groups on day 2.....

Enjoy!

Wes...

Time to start saving your pennies...

Time to buy your wife a camera with a faster shutter speed...
Seems she was unable to capture any pictures of me on course.

:D :p

Gee whiz you can be a Negative Nancy. Fine then, with my 3450lb vehicle+driver weight, 58%F / 42%R weight balance, here's acceleration on corner exit, with slip angle steering correction:

Elevation change and too much front sway bar?
:D :p :D :D

NAH... that's a COOL pic.

My little hot rod was running no front bar so..,and anyone can lift the rear of a fwd'er and well a stock suspension subie has so much compression travel up front the rear has no problem getting lifted.

I do like that pic of you hauling up the inside front though!

(would seem to counteract the advantage of awd though eh!:D )

Don't forget to flush when you're done..

Actually, that's me cursing through my teeth at the 0.1 to 0.2 seconds I lost going sideways. I'm one of those drivers who talks to himself constantly on early runs.

No! Not those kind of runs, Joe!

Elevation change and too much front sway bar?
Spring rates too soft (395lb F, 335lb R) for Hoosier grip; allowing too much roll, and ~300ft-lbs to the wheels at 3300rpm. :D But that was last summer.

Honestly, that photo sold me on Hoosiers... I wasn't able to do that with 710's.

I didn't know why the car felt so weird from inside it at the time, but I figured it out once I saw the pictures. This photo was a freebie that someone took and it's become one of my favourites. If I had a higher resolution version, I'd make wallpaper out of it.

Tony K co-drove the car that weekend and the photos of him driving don't have nearly as much airborne wheel time as I do. That's what smoother inputs can do for you... oh, and he was faster than me in my own car. :o

I do like that pic of you hauling up the inside front though! (would seem to counteract the advantage of awd though eh! )

What's the problem? I'm still driving all of the wheels that are touching the ground. :o Using all three LSD's at once on that one. If it was a lesser engineered vehicle (LEV), that could be One Wheel Drive. ;) I have 200% more traction than a LEV.

... and well a stock suspension subie has so much compression travel up front the rear has no problem getting lifted
For the record, neither Paul or I have stock suspensions. My spring rates were 75% stiffer than stock with the valving set to the highest it would go and still maintain traction on that bumpy lot. (35% to 40% of max valving)

Tire lifting wasn't Hoosier-exclusive at the Nationals.

Here's a pic (not from Wes' wife) with my V710s.

That tire lift was out of a slow corner, it looks like. Gee, I wish I could have driven that event, that picture shows how much grip there was on the surface. Must have been fun. :(

yea my TT was on V710's and had no problem lifting its tire up, (http://www.tanneymotorsport.com/gallery2/main.php/v/CAC2006/48_6984.jpg.html) although ussually at home she's up higher because we have a grippier surface.

here's a couple more tire lifters from nationals (http://picasaweb.google.com/dsracer23/Claudia/photo#5031484011950357970)

The turn was the first right hand after the start on day 2. The sheer grip and uphill grade allowed me to agressively apply the throttle exiting the corner.

I've yet to race on concrete, but the Nationals on day two (and final run group) was the grippiest stuff I've driven. It was an amazing combination of abrasive surface and nearly 2 days of rubber laid down.

It wasn't just the cornering forces that were amazing but braking as well. A couple of times I couldn't get the ABS to engage.

AWESOME!

There's more to it than that. As per the ASN rules, there are 2 positions that were not allowd to compete, "Clerk of the Course", and Cheif Steward. So someone had to do it.

But I did have a bit of "non comptitive" fun during the setup of the courses. Not like the mid day heat of comptition though. There'll be a next time, I'm sure.

I meant you could drive the other corolla-not mine!:D

Just jokin',if you can wedge in though the spankin new cage of my car your more than welcome to take it for a fun run.I'd like some additional input on its set-up anyways.
