I thought I would look into what would be involved if I got int o Solo 1 this year so I went to the official Solo 1 website to look for rules and car classifications.

The sections I found on the official site are dated 2005. :(

Will these be updated?

It gets a litttle messy for people to be browsing through threads on a forum to get up to date information.

I believe the website is being updated right now ... not sure how the progress is, but maybe Serge can chime in with more info?

It's an issue that the OSO is dealing with Doug. There's been a couple of updates, but everything's not ready yet.

The 2007 ruleset will be available at the Open House, if not sooner electronically. For now, please have a look at the 2006 ruleset: http://soloontario.com/forms/2006%20SoloSprint%20Rules.pdf

There will be few changes to the rules. The only one that comes to mind is that Dyno Pulls now have to be done in the gear ratio that produces the highest HP. (Usually your lowest ratio without going below 1.0 : 1.) But that only applies if you're using dyno numbers.

You can use this database to classify your car. As you're now a proud SPDA member, I'd be happy to walk you through those steps! The database is here: http://www.macrocosm.on.ca/ccdb

Thanks Steve. I sort of figured out that all of the latest information is in the threads of this forum. I found the 2006 rules. The link you attached is different than the one that I found. I hope the duplications between the thread, the CASC site and the SoloOntario site does not result in different versions.

I also found the CCDB thread.

Looks like I have to take the free stuff I put on the car last year to stay in Solo 2 ESS off the car. :(
