View Full Version : July 5th lapping day at the DDT?
Just wondering how many of you would be interested in a full lapping day on Saturday, July 5th? Pricing would be between $125 and $150 for the day. I don't think this is a long weekend and it doesn't conflict with the Solo 1 schedule or any Solo 2 dates that I know of yet.
If you're interested, please let me know (dpratte4@cogeco.ca) so that we can determine if it's worth our efforts to book this date.
Cheers,
Dave

Mark the DDT track is a small tight track, usually we just do 5 or 6 laps get flagged to come of the track and line up to go out again.
There is not any real safe wide long straits to pass on . Remember this is not the big Mosport track.

Generally speaking our lapping events do not allow for passing, however, this doesn't really pose a problem on the DDT. If someone is catching up to you, you pull off the track at the pity entrance and get right back on at the pit exit without really skipping a beat.
As far as number of laps are concerned, HADA's policy for past events has allowed people to stay out as long as they want. Perhaps lapping days held by other organizations only allow 5-6 laps, but HADA makes a point of ensuring all participants leave at the end of the day happy knowing that they had a safe and fulfilling lapping experience.
Anyway, if anyone has any other questions, please let us know and we'll be pleased to answer them.

I'm definitely interested.
Do you need a racing license for lapping days or just for Solo 1?

No racing license required but there are a couple safety regulations you must follow:
- Approved Snell helmet not sure if the min. requirement will be Snell 90 or 95)
- Car must be in good working condition (no leaks, brakes works, battery tied down securely, etc.)
More details to follow as we currently have another lapping event coming up in May
:D

I'm familiar with both solo 1 rules, and various lapping days, just never been to one at the DDT before. And because it is so narrow, thought I'd ask. Definitely still interested, including the May one, any details on that one?

I'm interested. I like that track even though there is no passing it is alot of fun. Do you have any idea on direction and configuration of track that will be used.

C'mon Ryan, you really just want to know if it will rain that day...sorry...heavy dew
Ryan, we can always switch up the config, but in all likelihood we'll use the full perimeter counterclockwise. This is the fastest/most fun config IMO.

Pat, yes it is true I have allready started my rain dances for the whole season or whenever I have a race hehehe.
Dave, that sounds cool I think that is the only way I have gone around that track.

Always interested in lapping days... but $150 sounds a bit high for the DDT. OMSC did it for $80-100 last year. $150 is more in line with TMP or Pro's high rental costs.

Sorry (rainman) hadamotorsport, I did have you confused with other clubs. HADA defiantly give the best bang for the buck on lapping days.
I remember 2 years ago a Shannonville, you had both tracks rented, get there in the morning and its, well hears the tracks boys, go have fun. Think I put about 350km on the track that day.
It will be interesting at DDT depending on how many cars come out.

Thats the one we ran the Solo II shoot out on at the end of season last year.

does it include the rest of the track? or JUST the part we ran?

Andrew the entire track is DDT, down the hill and back up again.
The elevation changes at DDT are it's best feature.
Chris, if you are referring to OMSC's events, weren't most of them run with Ian Law's school at the same time?
There will not be a school (or anything else) sharing the track, just us. Lot's of lapping, come and go when you choose (with in reason), lap and have fun.

Just so everyone knows, ALL HADA lapping events have a strict cap on attendance so that everyone that comes out will get A LOT of track time. We haven't established the caps yet, but rest assured that they will be similar to years past.

Ok what were they years past?

Hey Ryan,
Depending on the track, but usually about 35 max. As a result, tons of track time with little if any waiting to get onto the track.

Sign me up! We'll have to wait and see if there will be a regional Solo 2 event or not, but otherwise, I'm there!

Wes... just a lapping day that day. Not that I got much in. Cracked all 4 front pads early in the day (brakes cost me more time/$ last year that I could have imagined!). Finding the right pads can be tough!
Ok gents, we have booked the track and we will release pricing for 'Early Birds' (prior to the Solo Open House), Solo Open House, and 'last minute' registrants. Thanks for your interest folks!
