Trying to figure out where FrankenMini fits in the PITL classes (funny considering how simple the PITL classing is). Car is a tube frame Mini, RWD w/engine swap (Ford 2300). On the surface this seems to be C-Modified. Car weighs under 1500lbs without driver at around 1450lbs (considerably more with driver :( ) which would suggest D-Open (home built) assuming the weight restriction is without driver. My guess is it comes down to the weight, is that to be taken with or without driver? If it is without driver can I add ballast to put myself in C-Mod?
Being in D-Open would suck, mostly because there aren't many cars in this class.
So the question, is my car C Modified or D-Open?

D-class for sure. We get the occasional Super7 and/or SAE car that comes out and play's in that class. I think we finally decided that Andrew's Scirocco also belongs in D-class.
Don't worry much about not having anyone in the class. Worry about setting FTD instead. After all, its a club event!

Agreed...
Once sorted... worry about keeping blown Miatas behind you..
Hell... if Tong comes out... worry about keeping STOCK miatas behind you!
The scirocco has run in C and D at PITL. According to the posted rules it should be in C class. Classes vary alot depending where we run, CASC rules its mod SCCA rules its Prepared.
P.S. It's really boring alone in D but atleast its seat time.

Definately anytime there is a Miata driver behind you blowing be worried! :p

Well, D it is I guess. Looks like I'm D-Mod for CASC-OR as well. For SCCA I'm E-Mod.
Thanks,
Paul
