View Full Version : Ok Which V8 Wants It First :)
since the start of the 2003 season is almost upon us..i though some good taunting is in order......
how are the V8's going to fair against highly prepped 4 cyl cars?
the gauntlet has been dropped... :)

Put the interior, sound deadening, radio and bumper supports back in your car and we'll talk. :)
ohhhhhh...someone took the bait...hook line and sinker
my car is registered for the road..plated insured and stickered..and smoged...
you can't use that as a escape......
in any case we are all racing on the track..so its not relevent
whats it going to take to lay a beating the z06's this year?
Shaman

I'll be doing my best. :)
so we are ACTUALLY going to see the flaming chicken come out this year.....?
is it going to hold together....though i think your machine is already faster than the z06's no?
i think the 4cyl cars have to start picking on the z06's first.... then modified V8's
(sorry camero and rustang owners ...but i think the 4cyl guys already own you :) )
we have to look onwards and upwards :)
i would torture the honda weasels.... BUT...since i am now in league with those devilish weasels (and the fact that their fastest car...dave prattes..is using a weeny engine now..they are no longer a threat)
maybe someone will have the gumption and turbo a type R.......?

Z06s are no pushovers, and these tracks we run don't make for high horsepower advantages. High horsepower doesn't HURT, it just doesn't make quite the sizable difference on the smaller tracks that some might hope. On a track like the big track at Mosport where I can top out over 280km/h (probably more!), there is a VERY sizable difference to be had even if I can only carry an extra 20km/h for a few seconds - the key words are "for a few seconds".
it's going to be fun my 4 cyl is prety high strung turbo unit built with the help of kurt at ajax engines. check it out at
http://www.universalauto.com/fasttrac/ just non't know if it will be ready on time or not . i do have a back up car witch will probly start the year off with. the goal is to put the rookie out front
wish me luck i think i'm going to need it

Steve do you have any lap times for your beast from the big track at Mosport. Inquirying minds (yada , yada , yada)
Also, which year are they from - track keeps being upgraded.

Sorry, I don't have any lap times, all I've done is lapped it in "learning mode" a few times, or been a passenger.
he he...it might be 280kph in a straight line and then slow in the corners :)
nicks sentra may give you a run for your money :)
go nissan ...go
Shaman

It ain't that slow in corners, even with my full interior and the CD stack. Ask Caius. :)
hmmm.... these little darlings of V8 destruction "might" just be enough....these teamed up with my new tein suspension..i think should be enough to compete against the v8's (and i am even using a ford v8 cobra MAF to help beat them...talk about irony :)
ha ha ha ha ha ha.....
nissan will dominate all that oppose...........tremble in fear against the boosted power that will be your defeat!!!

Wow, I had no idea those Sentras were set up to run Nascar......with that many bars, Earnhardt would have lived. Hope it's moly..........
seam-welded and nascar bars...I can dig it! Can't wait to see the finished product, Nick. Maybe I can even ride shotgun in that beast at a lapping day or something :D

Does this mean we have to have pistons to play?:D
this means the gloves are off....no mercy for the V8's
Shaman

Unfortunately the V8s have to keep the gloves on in Solo Ontario rules.
some more tools to help the JUST cause of defeating the z06's...they will be smiten down...crushed i say....crushed in utter defeat...i can smell the fear... :)
and to help......a 11lb fly wheel, and a 6 puck race clutch that reportidly holds max 420ftlbs of torque...so no slipping should happen this year
ha ha ha ha :)
feel the wrath of nissan..corvettes, rustangs...IROCS and flaming chickens...

http://www.turbo240sx.ca/flywheel1.jpg
ohhhhhhh the beast has now come alive....all the electronics have been installed, and a brand new aeromotive fuel pressure regulator..and on very nice 6an return lines.... car started up with no glitches..and the monster 4 inch diameter air filter still has to be fitted.....it idled fine...and is reacting to the 550cc injectors and ford cobra MAF great.....off to the dyno to fine tune the A/F....
the time is coming very close for the V8's to scurry for cover as the little japanese 4cyl engines start to come to life in the spring thaw :)

Man... I hope for your sake you do well this season... with all this smack talk!

You had better prep that truck motor,4cyl.boy.The killer 3 is on the loose.
ohhhhhhh some smack talk from a 3CYL....thats even better....matter of fact that would be even SWEETER if a 3CYL could beat a few V8's
though i don't see any smack from the V8's they are just too scared to even comment :)

Adam , I sure hope you have the fire suit ready. I've been thinking 'bout where to put that fire extinguisher. Likely outside the car at the back , away from the flames. Sure hope I get to run BEFORE you do . BTW how is the turbo lag on that truck anyway? You may have to be creeping through turn 1 on Nelson and Pro just due to the fact that your car has "manly " power.
Also remember the OMSC rule ( at least at our events) that states..." any competitor who causes a delay in the event due to mechanical failure of his/her vehicle and requiring a tow will be liable to buy a round for all competitors who show up at the bar of the organizer's choice" . Could get expensive !
This year I've started my turbo build up and I'm going to get a boost knob.

Dave,
OMSC rule should be across the board!

I've only autocrossed 3 times, but each time it got easier to beat the V8 cars, especially those big fat plastic ones.
Shaman
03-23-2003, 10:32 PM
Bah, autocross. Solo One is where the V8s play.
TTT
thought this should come alive again ...
he he he he he...
stirs the pot up again....
ohhh shamen.....
hehehe...
even my little 125hp ratbox beat Steve on Saturday! :p But to be fair, DDT with both loops in play is anything but a power track and Steve hasn't exactly had a lot of seat time lately either. Still, I do recall something being said a few years ago about Steve buying a Honda if he ever got beat by one at DDT. Maybe his motorcycle is a Honda? ;)
always the excuses...this track is too tight..this track is not long enough....
maybe we should just shut down the 401 and have a race in a straight line :)

Motorcycle is a Honda? Hah! Honda doesn't make any fast bikes.
:)
And yeah, I drove like an asshat. God damn, I was out of sorts.

Try da 4 tWo sEvEn yo! Between 401 and QEW it's a real punisher.
agreed Tom, that section of the 427 is just ricockulous! I avoid it like the plague when I'm in my Civic.

Yeah, i was on that section of the FoUr TwEntY sEveN the other night, thought my head was gonna go through the roof.
PS, beware of the foUR o NinE.......that hurts soooooooooooo much.
tru dat, Krispy! The FoRe oH KNihnE is also a real kidney punisher...I remember talking it in my Civic on the way to the dyno out in Scarborough one night because traffic was all backed up like Alec's bowels...we saved 10-15 minutes but I thought we were going to blow a Tein!
