1989 Mustang 5L, 5spd.
This car is in immaculate condition with 4 year old VIPER blue
paint, DECH skirts, and SALEEN wing. Not a spec of rust !!
Modifications:
- CSC built 8 point cage
- frame connectors
- 2 recaro "srd" seats
- 2 RCI five point belts
- five bolt wheel conversion
- 17x8 GT wheels (5)
- 255/45-17 toyo RA1 tires (used 6 days)
- COBRA brakes ( 13.0" front & 11.5" rear) vented disc with
2 piston PBR front calapers.
- CARBOTECH panther plus pads (used 3 days)
- KONI adjustable dampers
- DECH race springs
- DECH "ASG"
- DECH grabbers
- DECH "G load" brace
- STEEDA strut tower brace
- rear seat and carpet removed
- sound deadning removed
- floor sprayed with RINO liner
- battery moved to trunk
- off road H pipe
- 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust
- DECH straight through mufflers
- 3 row high efficiency rad
- chassis dynoed at 286 hp at the wheels
- new tie rods, ball joints, control arms, bushings.........
The car is plated and insured for the street but is only driven
to and from the track where it has been used for driving schools and open lapping days. The only compettive use the car has seen is some SOLO 2 events. This car is a lot of fun and has been "bulit proof" reliable. I have taken the car to Cayuga drag track once (peer pressure) and ran 13.80 on my one pass (only due to lack of intrest). Most of the cars time is spent at Mosport where it run's in the low 1:40's all day.
