Seems to be more and more choices all the time. Nitto has an r-compound track tire now, based on their drag radial, but with a stronger sidewall.

I wouldn't know. The only guy I know who's tried them hung a serious beating on the 'Street' tire class last year until he bolted on a set. He promptly broke his transmission with the grip.

Ian Currie. We're still talking drag racing with the Nittos, right?:)

SCC had an article recently showing all the choices in street legal racing tires, both drag and circuit. They left out the Hoosiers, Hankooks and M&H drag tires, though.

Matt Glasford had them on his 600+ hp vette (that he brings to Waterford hills every year). He didn't get serious time reductions and other Vette owners he knows all told him they were much faster on any other DOT drag radial. I've yet to hear that the Nittos are any better than any other race tire, only that they are better than street tires.

I wouldn't be surprised. Somebody has to be the worst of the bunch.
