Interesting Rumor...

I spoke with the general manager of Grand Bend Motorplex at London Speedorama over the weekend. Apperently they have secured all the finances for a new road course and are waiting for zoning aprovals. They hope to start construction this year and possably open for business next spring. It will be short course (1.5 Miles or less if memory serves). The location is 45 minutes north of London.

cool! Hope it pans out. Apparently there's also a road course being built in the Ottawa area. Jeff or one of the MCO boys could probably tell us a bit about it.

That would be so much nicer for summer track days than the rest of the current tracks in the middle of nowhere :o

I had not heard about this ... that would be sweet. I love tenting at the track and all, but having a course right in my back yard would be great. The more variety the better!

I think the Ottodrome is the one with the road course, but probably a smallish one.

The owners of Ottodrome come to an MCO meeting a month or two ago to discuss their ideas. I have a hard time calling what they have a plan, maybe idea or goal would be more accurate. The idea is a road course independant of the drag strip and oval that could be open in 2005. They seem very open to input from the road course using community.
