Hey does anyone know how long it's been since they stopped making the BFG Comp T/A R1?... You know, just out of curiousity, seems like it's been years!
There is a brand new generation of BFG R-1's now, awsome tires.
I think the last of the previous generation was in 2001 or 2002.

I saw these being used at the Redline in St. Eustache.

I had a set of the old ones last year, they were date stamped 1999.

Yup, Kyle was using the new generation BFG R-1's, those tires are amazing. 2 grooves on them and the rest is pure soft gummy rubber.

1999 I had the last set anyone in Ontario was dumb enough to use in a slalom. I think they still made them in 2000, then very limited sizes in 2001. They were decent lapping tires. The side walls were so stiff you could let all of the air out of them and they would sit at almost normal ride height...on a 3000lb car!

I had a set of the old generation ones and did just that. Had back to back event weekends so I left them in my Civic hatch all week, about Thursday I noticed one of them was just a LITTLE off looking, when I checked it was 9psi but you could barely tell driving it. Crazy stiff sidewalls.
