Hi all,

We're running an ATL fuel cell that we bought set up for a FI engine. We have since switched to a dual Weber 45DCOE setup.

We're having trouble getting things running and think we have too much fuel pressure (or volume)

It is an in tank pump.

We switched the FI pressure regulator to the carbed version that was in the car that we took the Webers out of.

We disconnected the return line on the cell

Do I need to switch to a carbureted version of the fuel pump also?

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Gord

Does the carbed FPR not have a return port?

All that fuel has to go somewhere.....

I have done similar setups on RX-7's before, use a FI pump but the carb'ed FPR with a return line. Set the fuel pressure for 3psi and rock on...

I use an external holly blue to a holley low psi regulator set to 4psi, dead headed. I agree with Joe, If you use any kind of high pressure pump, that was not specifically designed to be dead headed, you may have an issue. Weber/Mikuni DCOE carbs want to see 2-3 psi, 4 psi max. If you use a high volume high pressure pump you will need some sort of return line off your regulator.

Tried a return line off the regulator and all I can then get to the carbs is 1 1/4 psi. From too much to too little.

I can swap the FI pump for a carbed one so that's what I'm doing. I had hoped something might work in the mean time, but we should have it going again by the weekend.

Thanks all for the advice
