So .... debut at TMP?

Yes, be prepared to have people curse you the moment that it rains at the next Solosprint event.
BTW, don't EVER sit with someone in a Stage 2 STi. There starts the slippery slope....
Oddly enough, I don't know if I'll be able to put enough miles on my engine to make TMP. (Well, at least as a competitor, considering that I'm the organizer for Saturday.)
WIL trying to rebuild an engine:
#1: Engine parts suppliers say "We have 10 on the shelf" when it's really on backorder and they have no idea when they'll get it.
#2: Cam manufacturers live in a world where there is no concept of time.
#3: You sure can break an engine in faster when you're in the same hemisphere as your car.

hmmm, budget, budget... Yea I'll bite the bullet and get 2 sets of hoosiers... So I think I will take the subie to TMP and run the 240 at SMP, gotta run in GT3 at least 2 more events. Then back to the STI for Mosport... :D

LOL! Curse me, hate me, rue the day I got an STI, just don't ignore me... ;)
BTW I talked to Terry at KVR about your brake setup ... sweet. Gonna get the AP Racing kit next year.
Im a skier so I like slippery slopes... :evil grin
Well good luck with the engine parts and see you at TMP.

Terry's been a fantastic help sorting out my issues... from simple mistakes to complex problems, I can't wait to get on the track this weekend to try the rebuilt calipers. The SuperSport rotors up front have been really nice as well... I swear that those J-hooks are magic. I can see an uneven transfer layer from the inappropriate pads I tried and no vibration. I've got to try them with DS3000's yet, but so far they've exceeded my expectations. Far better than my Project Mu's.
The AP kit looks nice, doesn't it? It almost makes me wish that my calipers would fail so I have an excuse to get it...
But I need my turbo to fail first so I have an excuse to get a bigger turbo.. :D

I just got a set of DS3000's from Terry on Friday and some ss brake lines. I'll let you know how they work out. Unfortunately my budget doesnt allow for the SuperSport rotors just yet... Just got some 17x8 wheels and my Hoosiers are on the way - so my wallet is considerably lighter. I'm seriously considering your front caliper setup with the knockback springs though. Yea Terry was mentioning 8 piston AP Racing calipers... It's a disease i tell ya. :)

I bought some 17x8 forged Enkeis for the track on the 9th, before that was posted. But thanks for the heads up anyway. Don't know about the feasibility of 18x8.5 wheels for the track... Even if they're light my tire choices would be limited and certainly more expensive.

Did he have his test car with twin calipers per wheel there? It was in the shop when I was visiting back in April. I'd love to try that on the track. I thought that it must be a nightmare to get the balance right, but he said it was the best braking car he's driven on the track.
It's nice to work with an engineer who tests and drives what he recommends. Hard. And isn't too proud to give it to better drivers than he for harder testing before it goes for sale.
So why not spread those 8 pistons over two calipers per corner? ;)

If you saw the black Civic with the dual front calipers, that's Edwin's car. I've talked to him about coming out to the track with it - he wil when he's ready i think. I believe those calipers are billet alluminum... However, i'd be concerned about the unsprung weight and its' the effect on the wheel bearing... A dual setup should inherently be heavier than a single caliper if they are built from the same material.
