A friend of mine was wondering, what is required to reserve a lot for a solo2 type course? It would be for his trucking company, they have some sort of driving skill competition every year and they would like to try something other than there small company's parking lot.

Any suggestions or links would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Drive around and make notes as to where the good lots are and start knocking on doors.

It is VERY hard to get a lot these days. People automatically assume that you are a bunch of yahoos that do burnouts and donuts and don't want anything to do with you. Or the places that have residential around are more concerned with keeping their neighbors passified.

It's tough and the tougher part is keeping a lot once you've found one because of neighboring residential.

I would definitely suggest that you stay clear of venues that already have solo 2 events booked as some of those clubs have worked very hard at building up a good relationship with the owners of lots and would be very annoyed if someone else muscled their way in and possibly put their events in jepordy.

All it takes is one complaint to stir things up and there are a lot of idiots out there that when they see an event like an autocross, they decide to show off their "riced out noise maker" on the streets and piss everyone off. (Ask the Corvette club guys about the idiots that were showing off on the street at their first event a couple of years ago - DSCR dickheads)

Good luck!
