Can anyone let me know if there is a motel near the Picton Airport (for the Regional event)? Not to be picky, but if it was one where the car could park in front of the room that would be great.

Thanks!

We stayed at a place right down on the water a couple of years ago. I can't remember the name of the place but is was clean and reasonably priced, albeit somewhat dated.....

It's right at the very bottom of the hill on the bay. I see if I can find the name.

The StLac site for last year's regional has some links to places to stay. I'm sure one of the Rob's or Bill will chime in shortly with some up-to-date info.

In the past we've stayed at the Comfort Inn in Belleville, which is approx. 30 minutes from the Picton airport. Its clean, comfortable, and the ground-floor rooms have walkouts to the parking lot. I think the "Racer" rate there is $90/night. Plus you're in a decent-sized town, so all the amenities are right there should you need anything (bar, drug store, hardware store, late-nite eats, naked dancing women etc...)

Ahhh...okay, Well Isaih Tubs isn't far from there either, it's on the shores of West Lake, if it still exists.

I recall it being there a very long time ago, but haven't been to that area since.

If you want to make it an extended weekend, stay in Kingston and the drive along the Loyalist Parkway is fantastic. The only issue is... the ferry. If you miss it, you may have to wait an hour for the next one.

There are tons of B&B places in Prince Edward County and if your up for it, Sandbanks is bar none the best camping in the Province. If you are going to stay at the Outlet (Sandbanks East Lake), call now and book a campsite. We used to camp there for a week every summer and we had to make reservations on April 1st, the day they opened up reservations. We always ended up going the last week of July which is plant shutdown week for those with factory blue collar jobs..... September should be a little better.
