According to rule 1.7.1 of the National Ruleset:

Passengers may be carried in the front passenger seat, anytime provided they have read & signed the appropriate waivers.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I THINK that there was a car black flagged last year at Mosport for having a passenger on a timed lap.

Is TAC planning to release any supplementary regulations that contradict 1.7.1? Or have I missed something in the GCR's that contradicts this? We have people interested in Solosprint and I don't want to have them drive out there to find out that they can't ride during competition laps like we thought.

Thanks!

I DON'T think so, because Subies have "Oh my gosh" handles, and it was a lady in the passenger seat and I don't usually see short ladies grabbing the roof to hang on, it's almost always someone in their 20's who normally wears their ballcap sideways. ;)

But it might have been a partially open window issue instead of fully open/closed. Good point.

Don't forget section 1.7.2 for those under 19. They cannot be a passenger during the actual competition. Any passenger must be at least 9 years old. A proper fitting helmet is also required.
