Wondering if any of you know of places similar to the Bridegstone or Jim Russel schools that use sedans.

Looking for a one day course or similar where the cars are sedans rather than open wheelers.

TRAC and HRC you use your own sedan. I'm not aware of anything where a car is provided.

go to www.bmw.ca and click on "BMW Driver Training". I don't think they offer any more this year but have a look and keep your eyes open for next year.

sorry to hijack, but has anyone take these courses?

Are you looking for a track lapping school or a racing school?
I have not heard of 1 day racing schools most are 2 days.
Most lapping schools are 1 day.

Loui!

I've been to BMW and TRAC. BMW is best for driving skills, TRAC is best for Racecraft, IMHO. Far more time with instructors at BMW schools, but they don't teach racecraft.

I know an instructor at Bondurant, but I never took the course there. (He used to kick my butt at go-karts. Bloody guys that weigh less than 160lbs...) Nice equipment at the Bondurant school, (Z06 Vettes, open wheel cars, etc.) and the weather will be pretty nice in Phoenix now... the monsoons should be over.

Looking for something where the car is provided ... more of a intro to lapping where cars are provided.

It's for a freind who wants to experience track driving. Unfortunately I do not know of anyone with a car (that would be fun to drive) that is willing to lend it out!

Guess I could lend mine out but .... hmmm.

Hop on a plane to Phoenix and do the Bondurant school. Fly America West and the airfare will be 1/10th to 1/20th the price of the school.

Keep in mind that using a school's car versus using your own tends to bump the price from $500 to $3000+. AND you're still on the hook for damages.

The official BMW schools are not the same as the BMW CLUB schools (Which I assume you've taken, with your own car). The BMW schools use BMWs provided by the manufacturer, and cost a pile of $$. They have (had?) a winter school here in Ottawa that includes lunch and a stay at Chateau Montebello, and costs something like $3k ... crazy (the MCO Winter school is less than 1/10 that!)

You can take a very expensive track course where they provide a car:

Or you can rent a car and take a regular track school (at your own risk).
I've seen lots of people do this over the years.
