after having a taste of racing at the mosport DDT, and realizing i dont have the $100 plus per weekend (plus tires) - solo II seems like the thing to do this year.
other than TLMC (which seems to be having trouble this year - hope they work something out)
any other good ones? hows PITL?
thanks!

Hey spoonie,
PITL is a fairly popular one and if you're in the GTA, it's nice and local.
Also the Corvette Club does a series at the Brone Go Station.
You should also check out the regional series.

Agreed, there is a day and night difference in the level of competition between regionals and the individual clubs IMHO.

Yeah what Marsh said.
PITL is a very popular series, #'s averaging in the 90's.
The Corvette Events are on a nice large lot, usually fairly open designs. Avg maybe 45 competitors.
Regionals were huge last year compared to the previous year. Participation #'s ranged but the GTA events they were in the 90's, two PITL regional events were 112 and 109? respectively.
Corvette is the most laid back in terms of competition. The PITL has a reasonably competitive system but not enough classes to be fair to everyone.
Regionals have a ton of classes with semi-complicated preparation schedules.
All depends on what you're looking for. History shows you'll get more runs at Corvette or PITL events. So for a beginner, that's a more logical way to go IMO. Not sure but you probably forefit rookie status after 3 events elsewhere though so...

www.soloontario.com/solo2 <- that's regionals (they're called regionals because basically it's a series made up of events at various club events across the region (that region being Ontario).
Event's in Woodstock, Brampton, Oakville, Bowmanvill, Picton, Up past Barrie, Peterborough and Ottawa.

Just to add to what Taylor said. Each club takes turn hosting one regional event. So when you do the regionals, you not only see the regular regional competitors, but get to see the best of rest from all the other clubs. Here at WOSCA we have many ex regional and national class champions that no longer run the series, but still run our club events. The other clubs are no different. At every club there are 2-5 people that are always the fastest. In regionals it's more like 10-20 because of the change in venue and competition from event to event.
