I am forwarding this message for a lapping day on the full track and Pro track configurations at Shannonville on Fri May 23. For more info contact www.carcontrolschool.com or contact ianlaw@ianlawracing.on.ca

Apparently passing MAY be allowed depending on experience and if people are behaving well.

Really?!!

Where do I sign?

:D

Oh, FYI Dave... I dynoed the car today. On my 2 pulls I dynoed almost EXACTLY on the bump point for GT1. With 8 suspension points I am sitting at 79.8 PI. :D Hello GT1?

Chris , that's great. Nick in a stock Nissan 350 , Me in a mildly modified LT1 , you in a more heavily modified Ford , and 2 other guys who have done quite well named Sorensen and Chalvarjdian ( sorry for the spelling Alex) . Should be great. Even placing 5th in this crowd is not bad.

On another note I might have to miss the first event due to certain "Mother's Day" committments.

I went to dyno for GT1 but ran into boost controller problems.

I'll be hitting it again this week once I get 'em fixed. GT1, should have about 79.2 or .8 I forget. Yey. Very competitive class I say.

Now that the suspension is setup and the engine driveability is getting better every day I go under the hood. If I'm behind by 5 seconds again this year, I'll kill myself. :)

Also there's lapping in the evening (5-8/dusk) hosted by HADA for those of you leaving the city later in the day.

I think they're gonna do Nelson, Fabi and Pro tracks... switching in the middle to Pro. Entry'll be capped, not sure to how many though.

yup, we've got room for a couple more cars, so if anyone wants to register at the track for our lapping evening we should be able to accomodate you.

Not trying to take any business away from the lapping day, just giving people who can't take the full day off work an evening lapping option is all. Cost at the track is $115 I believe.

Cheers,
Dave

Dave: Not that I have a problem with Dave B passing on the info for the Car Control School or anything, in fact while I was initially reluctant to mention the HADA date in this thread, I figured in the end HADA is part of the OSO and the lapping evening is geared specifically for competitors arriving Friday evening for the weekend event(s) so it's more-so worthy of a mention.

If people look here, they should know there's another event, at the same place, on the same day. I'm all about passing on the info, any time, any place.

Dave... hate to say it, but I'm going to register for the 9-5 instead of the HADA event. I have the entire day off, so I'm going to leave bright and early and then relax in the evening instead. I've never been rested for a Shannonville Sat event before. :D

I can't wait to see what this class is going to be like. I'm hoping that I can put up some better than mediocre numbers this season. The new power really suits the chassis. Overall the car feels much more balanced. At DDT it really came alive... I was quite shocked.

Are you suggesting something?! Perhaps afraid of a back-marker position? :D

I *may* be able to make this one.

It looks like I could have my car for next week.

That's great. I've been looking forward to seeing you on track since I first found out about this crazy bunch last winter.

Back marker?? You bet!!

What will really be interesting is that for those who were not pleased about the linear system this should prove to be the real test. If we were too stingent about engine mods then Nick Majors with a stock Nissan 350 should win and if we were too lenient as others suggest then Chris Atkins or Taylor in his MR2 should win . Personally I have no idea but suspect the competition will be great. BTW are the rest of you having problems with Sunday being Mother's Day ?? It will be very unlikely that I'll be there.

Dave: I have no mother. :P

I had no complaints about the classification system last year for the MR2. Definately not my excuse for how I was placing. The car simply was not set up properly.

As for leinency... well I think my car should be on par with a Type-R with coilovers. I have a fair bit more torque but I'm also carrying around an extra 300+lbs, and my car is 13 years old. :)

Course then there's that whole driver ability thing. :)

Mothers Day you say?
Nah, she's cool with it, anyway, we'll be back sunday night so its all good.

Come race moma's boy! :p

Yes... the whole drivers thing. That's the part I need to work on. There were a few times last year that I was close to the times of Kirk and Perry (the benefit of driving a past competitor's car!), but I was also way off on several tries. I'm hoping (big wish) that part of that was because of the junk V700s that I put on the car starting at Event 3.

This year's goal: to be as consistent as possible, and... if I'm lucky (or should it be "good"?) then be in the hunt too.

Dave... at least if you're not showing up Sun then I won't have to eat my words until Pro if I'm really off the pace. :D
