Raven Performance Lapping / School May 3rd (FABI)

Guys,

Raven Performance is hosting an open lapping / driving school on May 3rd at Shannonville (FABI).

Due to a schedule change, there are plenty of spots still available for both open lappers and students.

Cost is $235 for the school, or $195 for lapping ($175 if you book three events or more).

i hope i dont come across as negative, but isnt that very high for a lapping day cost? or does SMP usually cost more?

I believe this is for a lapping DAY which will sound high if compared to a 3 HOUR lapping EVENING.

Yes, this is for the full day (8 hours of lapping, if you're insane enough to do that much).

All starts at 9:00 AM.

Also, these are run under full BMW Club school rules; ie, passing is allowed in designated areas with point by etc.

That's still incredibly high for one day of lapping, especially considering it's just fabi and not full/pro track...sorry, just my opinion.

Are you kidding? Try a day at Mosport, which usually runs in the neighbourhood of $350 - $400 / day (Dexter, Panoz Test days, etc).

It's also a weekend, and not a weekday, and SMP's rates are higher for weekends than during the week. There is also insurance involved (which most private lapping days never have, and get away with it purely on luck...).

It's a top notch organization, with proper rules, and the availability of top level Club instructors for those who wish to take their driving to the next level.

Pretty hard to find 8 full hours of lapping for $175 out there with a reputable organization.

CASC regional test days are $200-$300 depending on when you register. There are several other clubs who charge around 250-300. Dexter is on the high side, no doubt, but they cater to the porsche crowd. here's a link http://www.casc.on.ca/files/2003RegionalTestDayEntryForm-Mosport.pdf

I've yet to pay more than $140 for a day of lapping at fabi, but to each there own. Sorry, don't mean to sound cheap or anything, just stating my opinion.
