Anyone interested in one for around $65?
I'm getting a deal on these, not sure how many I can get, I'll post info on them once I have it. They'll be great for track side wheel changes and other work.

Have you used one of these before? Just making sure you haven't set your expectations too high. They are not the same as an air gun or an electric impact gun. They take a couple of seconds to spool up for each "hit". It's slow but it works. Just making sure you know what you're getting.

I have no idea how good they are, someone told me he can get them cheap and it sounded. Is it not worth $65? Cause if it isn't I won't bother buying it. I'm not expecting to take apart my car, but if it speeds up wheel changes etc then....I'm actually looking for an electric one.

the electric one is poo..
i'm a lazyass and tried air tank with air gun (no compressor) good but not enough air
the electric impact one.. spools up then WHAM... poo
if its the 120V impact one, theres not enough amps to run it.
best bet is to get a torque wrench, a cheap 9 or 12 volt drill
a 3/8 or 1/2 adapter and socket.
torque, to loosen or tighten, then cordless drill to zip the nuts off or on

Yeah, I would not recommed getting one. You can get these year round at Canadian Tire for about the same price. The issue is that they're really too slow.
Like I mentioned, they need to spool up before each hit so imagine a 2 second spool up followed by a bang when the torque is applied followed by another 2 second spool up, another hit, etc. Do this about 4-5 times for each wheel just to break the lug nut free. Then you still have to untread it. Bleh...
Finboy's suggestion is much much faster and easier.

Actually, Milwaukee and Snap-On both make 18V cordless impact wrenches (1/2 inch) that work well.
The Snap-On unit is pricey, as you can imagine, but the Milwaukee unit was pretty reasonably priced. Grand total (taxes and all) came to a little over $300 for the unit I've got. 240 lb-ft of torque, and batteries that last forever. I can probably change 20 full sets of wheels (4 per set) with the unit on a single charge.
Price includes the blow molded case, rapid charger (sub 1 hour) and two 18V batteries, plus the impact wrench itself.
It's a pretty popular item at the track for swapping wheels....
No issues with waiting for it to spool up; power is instant (almost as good as my air gun at home).
Snap-On has a 12V and 14V unit as well, but the performance of those has been less than spectacular. I've been incredibly happy with the Milwaukee unit though.

Ahhh such conflicts of opinions, others told me there is no spool up it starts going as soon as you hit the triger. They changed wheels and suspenion componets. Guess I'll have to see it in action first, the guy who is selling it says I can try it before I buy it. Maybe this is a better one then the one you've tried.
Pat I like the one you've talked about, where in the GTA did you buy it?

Yeah, the 18V units are great. You can't compare them to the $69 unit maxrpm is talking about thought. Apples and oranges. Actually, more like Apples and watermelon seeds.
Trust me, stay away from the cigarete lighter guns. They are a waste of time and money.

Pretty much any industrial tool supply store can order these for you, particularly the ones who deal with Milwaukee.
Markham Industrial is one of those, but the place I bought mine was down on Parliament by Lakeshore. Can't remember the name at the moment though....
