I think if the car could have been bought without A/C, you would be able to remove it with no penalty. Be sure to check with the director for an official answer.

8. STOCK CATEGORY
Stock Category cars must be run as specified by the factory with only standard equipment as
defined by these regulations. This requirement refers to individual parts and to combinations
thereof which would have been ordered individually or together for a specific car. Option
package conversions may be performed between specific vehicles of a particular make and
model, but only between configurations from within a particular model year. Such conversions
must be totally complete and the resultant car must meet all requirements of this section.

i think.. if AC is sold as a package with power windows... i think you'd have to remove the whole package

best check with the director like Hanif said

But WHY ON EARTH would you want to remove the AC from a street/autocross car? Surely the better conditions in the car would make you faster than the savings of 50-75lbs of weight?

My HS car had the AC in it.

But, Hanif would be correct, as I read the rule book. Again, wait for Gary to make a comment, or PM him to ask him specifically. You must remove everything related to the AC system, and return the car back to the way it was before the AC system was installed, and the way the car was available from the factory, without the AC.

When I'm at an event, i'm blasting the AC all day long to keep my head on straight. When my melon's roasting inside my bucket I can't think.
