A Quarter Pounder at a time? What do you do, work for McDonalds? What a blatant off-topic commercial post! McDonalds is just lucky there are no formal rules prohibiting this kind of stuff like there is on other message boards...

The way I've seen it work best is where commercial posts are forbidden in all forums, but URLs are allowed in a sig. If a user is a helpful, insightful, or even just a regular contributing member it's very likely that their services or products will be considered first.

Put it this way... If you were watching a band play and someone from the audience interrupted them, got up on stage, grabbed a mic and said "eat at Joe's diner after the show", how likely is it that you'd eat there?

Even if there's no rules prohibiting commercial posts it should be common sense...
