Don't forget that SVRA also hosts a vintage event in conjunction with the Sebring 12 hr. Mar. 13-15.

This year will be the 50 yr ELVA reunion, and also the Historic (real) Trans-Am cars from 66-72 will be racing. They will also feature at the Amelia Island Concours event where Parnelli Jones is the honoured guest. George Follmer, Dan Gurney, Sam Posey etc are expected to make an appearance also.

I am thinking of going to the SVRA Sebring event. Anyone from this forum also staying for this event? Sebring is a special place for me and I would like to see it one more time, although accomodation will probably be hard to find. In the old days we just camped out at the Highland Hammocks State Park, but my camping days are done.

Robert, I think the term "REAL" Trans Am car applies to ALL Trans Am cars that ran in the Trans Am Series sanctioned by the SCCA from 1966 to 2004.
There are now quite a few Historic Trans Am cars being run in Canada, with great Trans Am history post 1972.

Steve, you are right. I was referring to the original production-based 66-72 cars of course, before the rules changed in 73. As you are aware, most vintage race organizations allow "clone" cars to be raced as "Trans-Am" cars and the public has no idea of the difference (and could probably care less).

Unfortunately, most of those 66-72 T/A cars built and raced by Canadians have disappeared from sight, either put in storage, wrecked (as mine was), gone to the crusher etc.
