What club is hosting the first event of the season? Or who has the first few? I am going to need to take my car out to a couple autox's to ensure that the suspension is set correctly before I take it to the track for the spring Solosprint school. The more autox's that I can hit before that school the better.

There's also the Autoslalom School:

Hanif: I joined HADA and I should have my Del Sol out at the May 4 event.

Joe: Where is the school being hosted and at what cost for 1 or 2 days?

Are any other clubs hosting anything before the solosprint school? My car is in Brampton, so within a 45 minute drive of there would be nice.

The school will be held at the Powerade Centre in Brampton, same place where we (HADA) host our series.

Wouldn't a lapping day be a better choice for sorting a solosprint car?

No, not if I'm worried about the never-tested suspension setup and body/chassis work. I want to autocross it so i can push the handling limits without the fear of death or destruction. Lapping days will come after the solosprint school.

You may wish to familiarize yourself with section 5.9 of the rulebook, as well as the safety checklist:
http://solo2.casc.on.ca/info/rules.php

While these only apply to provincial events they may be of help to determine if your car is safe enough to compete at any event. When in doubt, have someone else (like an organizer) check it out. Each club will have its own process for handling cars of questionable construction.

The car fully complies with the solosprint rules as they are written. I personally am convinced the car is safe, but my god its fast and I'm just not used to that :D

Del Sol - 500 pounds - a few inches of ground clearance + shocks + springs + bushings + WIDE tires = grip.

I just need to find the limits of the grip at low speed before I start thinking about the limits at high speed. Also, i need to learn the under/oversteer characteristics of the car and some basic recovery ability before I start going too fast.

Intersted in a co-driver? :) I have loads of wheels and tires that'll fit :)

I wouldn't want to get shown up in my own car, Hanif!

You can take dibs on instructing me at autocross school, though :D
You teaching or learning at solosprint school this year?

Unfortunately, I'm unlikely to be at either school event this year...

That's no fun! You will still be competing this year, right? autox or solosprint?

ps. i just did a "quick" CCDB on my del sol. Looks like I'm in GT1 with 79.4. Probably a fair place.
