For those of you who are not yet aware - I had my first podium finish (3rd place) in the ActionFront Challenge Street Stock Series this weekend at the Mosport TransAm weekend.

I finished right behind Ian Phillips (last years Series Runner-up) and Dave Diedrick (last year's series Champion).

Teammate Perry Iannuzzi finished a strong 4th - on top of his previous weekend's 5th.

Here are some photos.

Nick,

Congratulations on the podium finish - now that you have the taste for blood, you're gonna be all over the asses of the competition :)

Thank-you * thank-you * thank-you - It's really nothing . . .

(humble bow of head)

But seriously, it would not have been possible without the hard work and assistance of our pit crew - Robb, Pat, Mike and Darryl. They not only help us out between every event - but this week they kept me in it!

For example - Saturday's 30 minute qualifying session - my car died on corner 4 of the OUTLAP. Mass Air Sensor failed - had to limp back to the pits in failsafe mode.

Robb and Mike were waiting in the paddock, while Pat and Darryl kept working the radios for Perry (still on the track.) They had a new MAS ready to go (always carry spares!) and after some fiddling - got me back on track for the last ten minutes. Good enough to qualify 9th which led to my 3rd place finish!

Thanks guys.

I took 9 rolls of photographs during the two days, plus some digi's in the trailer park / paddock. I made sure to get a handful of shots during the last race on Sunday. Once I get them developed, I'll scan a few and find some way of hosting them (or can someone w/ space and know-how host them?).

It was a wicked time!

We must be doing something right this year. Team ActionFront has caused a stir amongst our fellow Sentra pilots. After our inaugural year of finishing in the mid to back of the pack, Nick and I have stepped it up a notch. So much so, some drivers think we must be cheating somewhere. This is one of the biggest compliments I can think of. especially when you know you have ]n't gone 1 inch outside the rules.
We've brought some more experience and "balls" to the table this year and our finishes are starting to show it. I guess people didn't expect such an improvement from my partner and I. Nick has an AFC podium, I've got a 3rd and a 4th in CASC Touring GT with a strong 5th fcoming from 15th in 8 laps in the pouring rain 3 weeks ago. Boy if I only had the 7 laps remaining to lap the field. But the fog rolled in and I had to take what I could.
Nick and I are doing our Solo I brothers & sisters proud and we hope you'll come out to see the action next time.

See you at the track. I'll try to make it out to Mosport DDT in two weeks, I miss the Solo I gang.
