Posting this here in case you Vintage guys don't read the Roadcourse Forum...
Hello Everyone,
We have finally nailed down almost all the details, so the Pre-Season Tech Day in Cambridge is a GO!!!
Date: April 19/2008 ( Rain Date is April 26/2008 )
Time: 10AM to 3PM ( Lunch Break 12pm to 12:30pm )
Location: Grace Bible Church/Parkway Public School
436 Preston Parkway, Cambridge, Ontario
Details:
1. Appointments must be booked, and we can take two cars every 30 minutes to tech, for a total of 18 cars for the day.
2. Every car presented for tech must have a valid log book, have a running engine and have functioning brakes. Club Log Books, SCCA Log Books and other Canadian Region Log Books are acceptable.
3. All cars will be moved by pushing them with engines off. Under no circumstances can a car be moved while the engine is running.
4. There is no stopping or parking of cars, race haulers or trucks on Preston Parkway. There is ample room in the parking lots of the church and the school to accomodate all vehicles.
5. Under no circumstances is a race vehicle permitted on any public street in the area surrounding the Church/School.
6. Cars will be inspected by a former CASC Scrutineer, a former CASC Solo Scrutineer, and supervised by a current licensed CASC Scrutineer.
7. Washroom facilities for drivers/crew will be available at Grace Bible Church.
General Information:
This event is being organized in conjunction with Grace Bible Church, Parkway Public School and the Preston Heights Community Group. They will be advertising this event to the neighbouring communities. It is expected that neighbourhood residents - including children - will be attending the event. I would ask that drivers view this as an opportunity to promote regional racing, and conduct themselves accordingly. We will be giving away tickets for the BEMC Spring Trophy Races, as well as other promotional materials.
As an incentive to drivers to attend, up to 8 discounted entries for the May 23/2008 Lapping Day at Mosport will be made available by random draw - space permitting. For each of the discounted entries, the driver will recieve $25 off the $300 entry fee and an additional $25 will be donated to the Preston Heights Community Group to support their programs for youth. My thanks to the organizers of that event for supporting our tech day with this offer.
At this time, there are plans to hold a fund-raising BBQ at the same time as this event, but that has not been confirmed. I will advise when I have definite details. Additionally, Waterloo Regional Police ( Cambridge Detachment ) are being invited to attend the event in order to have the opportunity to do community development work with the neighbourhood residents.
To book your appointment, for any questions, or to comment on the above, please contact Colene Allen at colene.allen@yahoo.ca or 519-653-6297. In order to book an appointment, please supply us with a contact phone number, a car class and your preferred time.
