Please see the Announcements section at the top of the forums for details of the 2008 CASC-OR TOYO TIRES CHAMPIONSHIPS.

All CASC-OR licensed/registered competitors in our Autoslalom, Solosprint, and RaceOntario GT Sprints are now eligible for Toyo's Code 1 discount on the new Proxes R888 tire plus an additional 25% on the Proxes RA-1 tire purchased through authorized Canadian TOYO Motorsports dealers (such as Tirecraft Toronto, one of CASC-OR's corporate sponsors!).

In response to an inquiry that was posted and then disappeared shortly thereafter (there have been some server problems in the last day or so)

From what I understand you can still just show up and run, nothing has changed that way. I believe the changes are if you wish to run for the Toyo Championship then you have to register and run Toyo tires.

This is absolutely correct - anyone may run any permitted tire in Autoslalom, Solosprint, or Race Ontario GT, but you must run the designated Toyo tires and display the required identification if you wish to compete for the Toyo Tires Championships.

To another point raised, it is Toyo's expectation that the preferential pricing is extended to those using the tires in competition, not simply members of CASC-OR clubs.

Any member of any CASC-OR club who is using the tires in competition qualifies for the discount. A member who is not using the tires in competition does not qualify.

Hope this answers these questions clearly.

So can I still compete for the casc-or mobile 1 championship on non toyo tires?
Why doesn't toyo make a wide 13" tire?

They do make a 13" tire, but it's very narrow.

You can still run any tire you want in autoslalom.

Absolutely, you can compete for the CASC-OR Provincial Championship (sponsor announcement there in a matter of days) on any tire legal under the rules. There's no restriction on brand - it's your choice.

No one has to run on Toyo - but Toyo have, through their support, given some good reasons for people to think about it - reducing the cost of competition and creating a unique championship where tire choice is a level playing field.

Thanks for the quick replies. As soon as toyo makes a 215 or wider 13" tire, I will switch to them since I would prefer something longer lasting than 710's or A6's

I plan on running a limited schedule of regional and provicnial Autoslaloms. Do I still qualify for the Toyo discount.

Once you register for the series, my guess is yes. To qualify for the minimum amount, it's only 4 events. (That's my interpretation)

You can register for the full series at the open house in April.

I ordered my toyo's,should be in stock in a couple weeks.I need to provide confirmation that I'm registered a casc series,I've never seen us given a # other than the race #.Is there a way to confirm?
Also the toyo racing site to register for the added price break isn't up yet,so exactly what do I show the tire supplier to receive the full discount?.

Thanks

Tom,

You are an SPDA member, all you need to do is to register yourself in the link below:

http://www.teamtoyo.ca/Registration/registration_racer.asp

Make sure you put SPDA as your club and CASC-OR as your sanctioning organization. They already have your name on the list, so you'll get quick turnaround.

Is TOYO offering a similar discount for 2009?
