Although they are far from complete, formating issues, the Preliminary results are up. I will be modifing the formating and also adding pictures from the event to the web site in the next little bit.
Enjoy!

(Why is it when you use a Microsoft product in conjunction with a non-Microsoft product, there is ALWAYS compatibility problems.)

Don't get me started on Microsoft!
Hey Wes,
Just a slight correction, my car is a 2000 Legacy GT, not a 99. Club affiliation is SPDA.
Thanks a lot for the work you're doing.

Done, the next version of the results should reflect this (probalby later today or tomorrow)
Joe is SPDA CASC-OR affiliated?
If so, send me the club specifics and I will add it to the web page as well. (Contact info, webpage address etc.)

Correction: I am driving a 2001 Protege MP3 (blue) not a Protege 5 anymore.
If not for that cone, I would have won .. woah.

Ok, done (see response to Joe's comments)
If not for that cone, I would have won .. woah.
If it weren't for my piece of s*&t car, I might have won too:D Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Any more changes before I go through the conversion and formatting again?
Ouch.. that's the last time I leave my R-compounds at home.

Wes, curious about the novice class.
I see some drivers listed there with more then 3 solo events under thier belts, am I reading the rules incorrectly?
Thanks
tony

Ouch.. that's the last time I leave my R-compounds at home.
Were you not the one in another post that said leave them at home? That'll teach you, R's are almost always faster!
Tony, yes the rules say that novices are competitors that have less than 3 Solo 2 events (that is not just Regional events, but events total).
Some of the series registered people that signed up at the open house at the beginning of April may have had only a couple of events then, but managed to get out and do a couple before this weekend. I will chat with Robb about that specific issue.
If you would like to drop me an e-mail at solo2guy@sympatico.ca with any specifics, we will deal with them.
Thank you and keep 'em comin', I would like to redo everything just once more.

Yesh .. if only ... hehe.
Actually I didn't think I would be anywhere close to the rest of you guys on r-compounds.
Sorry, it just surprised me when I saw the final results.

Yeah, that was me alright. Last year the lot was MUCH worse -- gravel everywhere. I remember Steve Tong brought his race rubber and chose to run on the Falkens instead.
Lesson learned :)

I followed the link but the event 1 text is not hot. I can't get to any results. What am I doing wrong?

Murray Cutler isn't a rookie and he knows it. He must have miss understood the form.

I too don't see how to access the results section of the site?
tanney

Solo Ontario Solo 2 (http://www.soloontario.com/solo2/)
In the navagation bar to the left below the black Solo 2 Results is a button that reads
2003 Solo 2 Series Results
pick that button and the results page comes into the main frame.
Event # 1 is a hot link, pick it and the results from Sunday's event come up in the main frame.
Pick the back button in IE or Netscape and then pick the Class Standings for the class standings, etc.
(It was even tested with the evil Internet Explorer 6, can you tell I'm a netscape person and all links seem to be working)
tanney
05-28-2003, 07:52 PM
Then, even as a bonus.. at the top of the event 1 results page is a line that says Competitor Times are available here . If you pick the link here, run times for all competitors come up in the main frame.
And a further bonus will be tomorrow when I get the pictures linked up and running and maybe even update the what's new section so everything is accessable from one spot.
tanney
05-28-2003, 08:01 PM
And if that doesn't work.......in the results page hit the refresh button in netscape or ie to reload the newer page.

Anybody else not able to retreive the results?,there's simply no hot link to download from. And yes I did the reload thing, still nothing.
Just letting you know that a problem seems to exist, not bitching or complaining just letting you know and wondering if it works for other people?

I was able to access it earlier.
Seems that the entire SOLO 2 site is down. Maintenance??

Yes, indeed it does look like the entire site is down.
Not my realm, unfortunately (or, I guess, fortunately)
I must say I have never seen so many pylons taken out at an event. I am not knocking the event I think it was well done, I am just surprised.

P.S. Link is working for me now :)

Wow, the novice scoring system is strange. I'm 10th place overall, but only 8th in the novice standings

Andrew I know what you mean,I lined up for my first run and promptly mowed the first pylon I came to flat, and then went of course later in the same run.Last season I had 0 o.c.'s and only 2 cones for all events, hope this trend doesn't continue as the competition is to close to give one away in BSS.
BTW for a heavy car you were fast on sunday!
Oh yeah, glad to see the site is back up as I was starting to think it was just me.
I need a faster steering rack. UGH, for fast courses like the Picton event, it's not that bad, but for the tighter ones.. OMG All I can say is "Thank goodness for good power steering systems that don't get bogged down with fast inputs".
Guess whay my next investment is in... :p
Pylons, what pylons. LOL

Your overall score is only based on who else you competed against in your class. The novice points are base on how you did against EVERYONE. This is to eliminate the novice being won by someone in an empty class that they easily win all the time. Take for example John Norton. He finished 2nd in rookie (once Murray is taken out of there), and he is dismal overall because Joe T gave CSP such a good trouncing. So the rookie system gives no advantage or penalty to a driver because of who else is in their class.

Not if it's a correctly classed pig. Besides I've seen FTD set in a 90hp 4 door mazda 323 with stock suspension. On most courses it's 90% driver.

id say it would be around 60-75% driver... but its the same idea :)

Let me qualify: 90% driver, within any given class (if not more). Obviously nobody would be surprised if a rookie showed up in an A-mod car and set FTD.

Well Andrew being an old guy is a big part of the reason I'm as fast as I am-runs longer than 40 seconds increases my chances of stroking out or suffering severe chest pains etc. Also the faster I run the course the better the chance of me not forgetting where to go or even why I'm there:D
I was pleased with the results however, first time I propostioned BSP and only 4/10's off the FTD,3rd fastest time etc.
And for a change I wasn't being pressured by any B1/2 cars!
If I could only find a way to afford an LSD!

Ok, the results have been updated, the pictures are up and if you have any further comments, please post.
Also, do you like pdf or html format for the results to be posted in? Just curious.

HTML, I hate waiting for acrobat reader to load. PDF is only better for BIG documents, or documents I intend to print, IMO.

Part of the reasoning behind the pdf is people like to print out the results for their personal records. The other part was the on screen formatting.

PDF is easier to download and save though.
And are you sure that PDF is smaller than a Word-generated HTML doc? ;)
PDF may also look more professional and trustworthy when submitted to sponsors.

Wes and WORD don't get along very well. WERD
tanney
06-02-2003, 08:27 AM
Chris it's not Word I have a problem with, it's the Microsoft dominance and their hugely bloated crap they call software. (Have you ever noticed that word will do almost anything.....except what you need to do)
My big problem is their underhanded buisness and world software donination tactics (I truly hope no one out there has XP or Windows 2000 with service pack 3 as their operating system).
Novell is FAR superior to Windoze network crap! Novell IS secure and you don't require a full time IT person to patch your Novell servers.
Slightly off topic!

No I'm sure it's smaller, but every time I click on a PDF, I have to wait for the plug in to load, before I can view the file. I never save them, I just view results online.
