Hi folks,
I was looking through the '08 classifications and have a couple of questions.
No listing for a MazdaSpeed 3? In scca it's D-Stock but I couldn't find a listing. I have had some nasty class surprises in the past and if I showed up with a Speed 3 It would be good to know which class for sure.
Also:
BMW _"all other 3 series" is D stock? So a 335ci(not specified anywhere else) would be D stock? By weight and hp it sounds very much like F stock (rear drive 3400lbs+, 300hp)
Anyone know anything about these classifications? Maybe they're there and I'm just blind who knows?
Cheers
Ed
Hi Ed, The SCCA does class the 335i in F-stock. :)

No, you are just getting old. That is why you cannot see them. :-)
The official way to do it is to submit the request to Gary for classification. However, he and I were talking about the missing vehicles in the classification table. I would expect that most of those vehicles would get classified in the next little while. If you want to be sure, just send him a quick note.

Thanks for the info guys
Sorry for not using the "OFFICIAL" method. Thought I'd just try and stir things up a bit....hmm;)
Pete: Do you have a flask in that cane? I was not happy to see you still hobbling around. You okay? Recovering from surgery to fix the old limp?:(

Hrmmm. AWD, 3250lb, 300hp is A-Stock... Add 150lbs, don't drive two of the wheels (eliminate understeer), and suddenly you go down five classes? Man, that's the life... ;)

Unfortunately not. I had a PFU and fell down most of the set of stairs at home. I could barely put any pressure on one foot on Sunday.
Absolutely no worries. I was just trying to reinforce it for others, as that is the only way to be sure.

Time to trade in the STI! The 335i is about the same price as an STI with a much better interior. :p

Yup, I'll be at a couple of events... haven't touched the car in 4 years so no surprises. Got a couple of CCTCC conflicts though so I guess I'll "let you win"

Picton's a conflict... gonna be @ TLMC, maybe the Downsview weekend and maybe WOSCA.
Hey, isn't this supposed to be a rules thread?
I've got one... How about a 2000 Civic Si-R with an Integra Type R Engine in it? Does that really have to go to Mod? (C Mod right?) or can't it just compete in whatever SP class the ITR would be in? She's gonna be slow anyway, car's not fully prepped and she's a rookie...
How about a 2002 Subaru Impreza with WRX AVCS Heads, EJ20G Block, manifold painted red to make it look pretty, SR55 Turbo, and FMIC, with Hot Bits suspension?
But yeah, Todd, Downsview would count as 2 events, TLMC as 1 event, all you need is one more to count for the full series. Come on, you know you wanna..
Oh yeah, the SIR with the Type R engine, that would be mod, unless the block was the same as stock and you claim internals. But that's not the case, I don't think.

Stupid rule... car's no different from an Integra Type R (not as good actually) we've fixed this rule with the new, soon to be released TLMC classing. Yup, you heard it right, TLMC has classing for 2008! (thanks to some very hard work from a couple of our members...)

The rule is the same center-to-center bore spacing, same stroke and same number and position of cams. So you could if they were the same crank. But that's a mute point, because if you could swap any of the go fast type-R bits onto the SiR block anway and stay legal.

Is your classing posted anywhere? I couldn't find it on the web site.
The rules should be on the website next week.
There are 7 classes and the basics are this:

S2 (Stock2) B, C, D stock by CASC rules.
ST1 (Street Touring1) ST2 (Street Touring2) Modeled after SCCA ST classes, entry limited by displacement, seats, etc. 140+ treadwear tires only.
SP1 (Street Prepared1) ESP, FSP by CASC rules.
SP2 (Street Prepared2) SS, A Stock cars start here, ASP, BSP, CSP, DSP by CASC rules.
MOD (Modified) Everything else, CASC MOD class.
