What class will you be in this year?

After seeing everyone at the Open House, i've been getting a bit excited for the first event to start!

I was also wondering what class everyones planning to run in for this year, because of new mods, or new cars, or if they were affected by new rules?

The additions to the rules this year are kinda nice, because its going to bring some more competitors down into the Touring classes.

I'm still unsure about whether im going to co-drive Jay Lien's Integra... which would be in GT1, run my Mazda again in T3 with the same motor as last year, or put the new motor in and run it in T1.

I don't think the current motor can last another year, and i'd prefer to race in a more populated class with a faster car.. I guess if I can get the funds together and find enough time to finish the work on my car, i'll run it in T1... otherwise I may just do the odd event in it, and do the rest of them in the Integra.

How bout the rest of you??

I'm going to burn off last year's R6's at the DDT weekend in SGT2, but I'm not running a full season this year.

Preliminary attempts to run my Del Sol through the CCCDB places me in the middle of GT1. This is approximate because I have no idea what the car weighs anymore. Wherever I am placed, I will be using aero mods to "tune" my pip schedule to the top of a class.

I'm predicting somewhere in the GT1/GT2 range, but neither of the cars have been weighed or dynod this year, so its just a guess really.

Chris, you should step up to a faster car, one way or another.
I'm guessing GT1 will be pretty full this year, it would be a great class for a season-long battle.

I've registered for the first event @ the DDT but I'm scared to try to class the car I'm driving...(and a little inexperienced) It's a 2000 Civic SiR with an Integra Type R Engine, a Type R rear bar, Konis... what other mods matter?!? Oh yeah, it'll probably be on an old set of RA-1's. Doesn't really matter where we end up, it's not my car, we're I'm coming to help the owner out and we're out for some fun track time...

How are the cars coming along Jon? You've got a lot to live up to with the Red one... I told you who drove it before you...

I should be in GT3 - GT2 like in '06 - 5pts for non-premiums.

Got myself down to SGT2 by removing some parts that didn't make me faster and then by running RA1's that's -5 pips and I'm in SGT3. Should be a fun year. Looking forward to not just racing against my own times again lol.

Looks like I've found myself a new home in SGT2 (farewell, SGT3! :D).

As if the competition wasn't stiff enough in SGT3 as it was :rolleyes:. I can't wait for the propositioning this year!? :o

Not sure yet. I'll probably do the race weight and dyno option - it all depends how much I strip out of the car, and being a 2 seater and mostly fibre glass panel to begin with, there's not a tone to take out.
I'm also planning on running RA-1's so I'm aming for GT-2

I wonder if I can melt down all the plastic stuff I take off and shove it up front to keep wheels on the ground? but what would be the fun in that?

as of now my pips put me in gt3 but I think with proper dyno documentation and after I hit the corner scales and also get a race weght.. I'll be in gt2,

I could bring out my g/f's Chevy Optra ... 2.0L, ~120HP, 4-spd auto ..... and "grocery-getter" suspension :D ..... I'm sure it would be classed into a Touring class?? ;)

Chris, I think you need to put that car to work as the commuter it was made to be and run a GT class with the ITR. Solo1 will be more fun with competition. You're on the track alone, its no fun to also be classed alone.
