The transmission for the truck (2000 Explorer 4WD) was diagnosed today as needing a rebuild. With a ball park cost of $2000. Ouch!
They say its throwing codes for 1st gear, 3rd gear, and 4th gear. And 5th gear isn't working, which really kills the mileage!
Is it worth checking with the wreckers for a used tranny?
Is this something I can do myself?
