Just wanted to post about the excellent service I've received from the folks at Tirecraft (http://www.tirecraft.com/Ontario/concord.asp). They have stayed late a couple of times in the past to mount tires for me or waiting for me to pick up tires. More recently I called for some tires that I expected to have to order from the US, the next day the tires are in and cheaper than the US prices!

Thanks for supporing CASC and providing us great service!

Thanks Tashko:o
It's these types of comments that make it all worth it.
I'd also like to hear the bad too, helps us stay on top of our game.

Too bad I didn't feel I got treated well there recently. It' really too bad as I am usually a very loyal customer, going out of my way to support those that support our sport!

I lost confidence in NBT some 15 years ago. I don't know how they stay in business!

I am going to check out Tirecraft here in the Kitchener area (Toronto is too far from me). I hope their service is as good.

Been there twice,. First time, amazing service. Mounted my 13" autoX tires in a hurry.

Second time, tried to buy some 205/50/15 street tires for my Civic, counterperson looked at me like I had 3 heads. Had nothing in stock so I went to another shop and bought tires. I was very puzzled, The counterperson made me feel very crappy saying that only old cars use 15" tires, new cars all use 17's and up implying I should get wit the times. I am not in any hurry to return. I like 15's.

Just bought some shaved R888's from Toronto Tirecraft for CCTCC and Jeff and his team were great. Mounted and balanced the tires quickly and looked to be working their tails off to get all the new R888's shaved in time for the next TC weekend.

Maybe he was just having a bad day. We've all been there before.

You wanted good and bad, I've had both at your shop.

So do you not stock 15" street tires?

We do! All tires, 10'' O.E Mini through 22''!
We also do Truck, Trailer, Race and everything between.
I am sorry for the mix up, I do hope you can give us another chance.

I had to laugh when I saw the comments about NBT, years ago (I am talking mid to late 90's) they put some tires on my dads motorhome (the 30 foot Leocraft which I use at the track). Anyways, to make a long story short, they didnt torque the rear lug nuts, and when my dad was on the highway driving back they came undone and one of the wheels almost came off. Destroyed both rims, and almost killed him (did I mention that the propane tank was in the rear underneath the chassis too). Unbelievable, and when he went back they tried to deny any responsibility. Surprised they are even still in business.

Make sure that Jeff's not behind the counter, talk to Mike or Dan.

Very good service!

At the BARC weekend, I was having severe balancing issues. Those guys took the time to rotate each tire on the rim to get the issue resolved (which was due to a bad shave job, from another shop). All this at a very reasonable fee.

Thanks guys!

So I tried again, just needed to get some tires taken off of rims.

Too busy. Next shop I went to was busy too so the guy behind the counter did it. 10 mins.

Ah well, I tried. And I've given up.

Yikes!

Maybe you do have three heads! I wish I could be everywhere at once.
When was this?

It was today at approx. 3:30pm. I know you guys are busy, but so is every tire shop. Anyway, I'm sure this is an isolated incident, and as long as your pockets appear nice and deep, the service you get is perfect! I am a broke ass racer so I get the cold shoulder.

Maybe I went to the wrong shop.....................:(

I have never had a bad experience with Toronto Tire Craft. Every person that I have recommended (many) to go to Jeff's have all commented on how good the service was. I use his services for all of our tire needs. Including all of our road going vehicles and our race vehicles including our towing rig and bus. I have dealt with many tire shops over my many years in the automotive industry and Jeff is the best shop by far.

You can not expect any business to drop what they are doing and look after you right away. What about the persons tires they are working on at the time. Do they now have to wait until your tires are done? You have to give someone the opportunity to slot you in when they can or call ahead and find out when they can look after you. It is unfair to arrive and expect to get looked after immediately and then to post in this forum and claim you were not looked after.

I also do not think your comment is appropriate about how much money you have or do not have, reflects the quality of service you receive from Toronto Tire Craft.

Right.

I didn't expect them to drop what they were doing Andy. This is the second time I have gone in to Tirecraft and looked at like I had 3 heads. I have dealt with many tire shops in the past and I have never had an issue getting something done within a half an hour. Never. If Tirecraft can't do that, then why would I use them? I know your team gets great service, that's why I went there in the first place, you guys and many others have always spoke very highly of Jeffrey and his shop. I live in Brampton, but have gone out of my way on the way home from work based on the fact they are a CASC supporter, and on the recommendation of many a racer on this board.

My OPINION is that I have not experienced this service, and felt like I was a second class citizen. This was my experience and Jeffrey asked for good and bad. It is unfortunate, but I shouldn't be made to feel bad for expressing my opinion when it has been asked for. I also won't apologize for the money comment, again this is how I was made to feel when I asked for 15" tires, like I was too poor to afford 17's and I should also get with the times. I can almost guarantee if I was in a suit and just drove in in a Porsche, they would have somehow made time for me. Again, just my opinion.

I'm sorry it didn't work out, I believe strongly in supporting companies that support racing, but I won't be trying for a 4th time.

Regardless of which tire shop you use in the future you should call them first to see if they can do the work you require while you wait.

I'm not a strong believer in "you can please some of the people".
I do apologize for any shortcomings on behalf of myself and my store.

Andy, I can always count on your kind words, Thank You.

Jeff

p.s. the first time was good, so third time's the charm?

Well, I did my first deal with Tirecraft today and was not let down! Jeff was quick to respond to emails all week, and even though he wasn't in the shop today (something about supporting a few hundred racers at Calabogie I think) his right-hand-man Mike took care of me today. He called back when he said he would, let me inspect my tires before mounting them and overall made me feel like a valued customer. Two thumbs up for sure!
