A friend of mine wants to sell me his used 032R's, they are pretty worn, like, you can still see where the tread is/was, but they're pretty smooth to the touch. Are these even of any use? I'm not too concerned about the tread depth, will they still stick? will they wear to the cord in no time? I would post a pic, but I'm having trouble uploading it...

I'd love to buy new tires, and I still might, but if I can save some cash this way... by the way this is for 4 205-50-15 032R's mounted on alloy wheels (in ok shape). If they're worth buying what range should I be paying?

Stew, 032R's are very resistant to heat cycling, so they should still have some good stick left if they're not more than a couple years old. Old r-compounds do have tendency to dry out and lose their grip. As long as they're not corded, they should be good for Solo 2 use, but I wouldn't pay more than $100 for the set given the minimal amount of tread they apparently have left.

I'm sure we can give you better feedback than this if you can find a way to post a picture of them.

hmm, yeah, those look pretty toasted. I certainly wouldn't pay more than $50-100 for the set, though I do think you could get a fair bit of Solo 2 use out of them. But if you take your car to the race track (which is hard on tires compared to Solo 2), they won't last long before showing cord by the look of them.

He wants to sell them mounted... I was thinking like $250

Seems fair to me.

Yoks have almost no rubber beneath the tread pattern, so if you plan to do open-track work they will probably be shot before the morning is done.
