Started out crazy with the usual nutheads, but things settled down by the 3rd session, still way too many people.

Has anyone gone to the Panoz days at Mosport? I know it's for the racers, but I've been told streetcars are alowed to go as well.
nice pics, Sam! Sorry I didn't get a chance to chat with you yesterday.
Here's a few pics the ColourTech guys took of my car (I bought the CD, which had tons of really nice high rez images on it)...

$hit, that was you?! We chatted very briefly, actualy with my friend. We were walking by and he was looking at your rollcage and asked if you had weighed your car.
Do you know what times you were getting? I think I passed you on the back straight a few times.

hey dave,
I'm in the passenger seat...must have been the first run I went out with your father before I added the HOLY %^&^ handle from my car :p

Sam, I don't recall seeing your Maxima on the track with me, so it was probably my Dad you passed on the back straight. We took turns driving. I apparently did 1:46-1:47 during my last set of runs (according to a friend hand-timing me) and my Dad did a best of about 1:50-1:51 based on my hand timing. I'm pretty sure the car has 1:42-1:43's or so in it even with the little SOHC engine, but there was no reason to push that hard yesterday (especially after seeing that Porsche all bent up).

Don't really know as I have yet to time myself at all eight track days I've gone to this year. I was definately going faster then Monday as my brakes were working better. I don't think I bedded them enough before hand as they were fading on me for most of the day Monday, no issues Tuesday.
On tuesday I did speak to one guy in a Silver M Coupe and he said his friend timed him at about 1:45 and I was faster so he thinks I was going maybe 1:42 or so...how accurate that is I don't know so I'm not going to claim that as my time.
Time for a hot lap system and R Compounds.
How about yourself?

I finally got around to capturing some video of that day...I needed a video capture card so I went out and bought an ATI TV Wonder VE ($70) and used Windows Movie Maker. Here is the result of my first video, Right Click Save As (http://168.144.104.48/maxrpm/chasingsupra.wmv)

How many cars out for this? How many sessions and how long? Well run?
Thinking of their event in Sept.

Sam,
Who were the quick cars out that day? Any idea what times they were running?
Doug, the day was split into to groups, with each group taking 30 minute sessions throughout the day (so about 3 and half hours of track time available to each group throughout the day), with a one hour break for lunch (so the marshalls could eat). Our group (the Kensai group) was unfortunately split into two because there were so many novices that it was getting a bit dangerous out there (though the only accident was in the other group). This effectively cut our track time in half, but Kensai assured me that this won't happen at their Sept and Oct events since they expect fewer cars and fewer novices. I believe their goal is 30 cars per group, though we had considerably more than that on the 1st.
Chris, Rui was running 1:38's or 1:39's in his NSX I think, and there were several Porsches that were probably running quite a bit faster than that. There was one 911 in particular that was probably running in the low 1:30's. That thing apparently had 650 hp. Nice! The Kensai ITR has run 1:36's there in practice, though on this day they had a less powerful engine in the car so were probably running 1:39's or so. Ken Lau's RSX Type S is also extremely fast, I would guess he was running in the 1:39's if not better. Most of us "regular" yahoos where running in the mid to high 1:40's.

Chris,
Dave's description of the fast cars is accurate, though I don't know their times.
Here is pick of the Porsche that was fast, Click (http://members.rogers.com/keilyho/mosport/pages/120_2006.htm) not sure if it's the same one that Dave is talking about, probably though. Some more pics I found on some site, http://members.rogers.com/keilyho/mosport/index.htm
I also have a short clip of you passing me (and making me deaf) then a few of us get bumched behind some little red car. I'll post it once I have a chance to capture it.
Dave, I've never been called a regular Yahoo before, thanks:mad:, I think...:D

A 650hp Porsche... mmmm... and it was quick?! LOL! :D Don't think I can beat a low 1:30!

Racetracks require earplugs... you should know that. :D
You going to the Glen in late July?

I'd love to go to the Glen and VIR and a few others as well and of course Mt Tremblant. But I'll be vacationing in BC at the end of the month. But I hope to get to one of those tracks this year.
Who's going and who is running the Glen event?
