View Full Version : loose rearend what to do?
my 89' 240sx rear drive has become very loose in the rear since i have lightened it and put in a roll bar and rear strut brace. the only thing that helps so far is running much lower pressure in the rear tires, front camber is at -1.5 deg rear is at -1 deg (and at its max neg setting in the rear)
1=would reinstalling the stock rear sway bars help?
2= more or less camber?
3=bigger tires?
anyone know? or am i just pushing it to hard in the corners?

I'd try lowering the rate of the rear bar. Maybe try the stock one again, since that's simple.

If your rear end is loose you could try thigh master Adam.
If your cars rear end is loose, you could try adjustable shocks and firm up the front and/or soften the rears.
I just put a set of adjustable koni's on my Neon and by firming the rears and softening the fronts I can make my cars rear slide out nicely on corners. I assume the reverse could work for your rear drive.
Being Greek, you'd figure I'd be an expert in this area.
Anyway..
I've dabbled in it by putting a big bar in my rear end, and it loosened things up nicely. In my case I put in a Type-r sway bar.
22mm up from 13mm is a big change, butt if you ease into it you won't get hurt. Just take it easy and don't over drive the thing.
You you have a big bar in your rear end too, eh? Try putting a smaller (stock) one there.
It's cheap and you won't take any points for it.

Oh yeah, forgot to add that increasing the size of your front sway bar will offset the oversteer created by your larger rear sway bar.
I suffer from CRAFT disease ( can't remember a f---ing thing).
