For the supps, I tried to make them less-boring.
Section 1 One page has all the stuff that you really do have to know.
Section 2 is all the stuff we got from Trac Racing Depot and Talon Tire for you, plus info if you're staying at the track, etc.
Section 3 is Calabogie's noise regs.
Section 4 is stuff that you really should read.
Section 5 is the fine print.
www.solosprint.ca
An excessively-detailed organizer's schedule is posted there.
Please ignore the cars per cluster numbers in the schedule. They only represent the scenario that was simulated last, not what we will actually do.
So the deal with number of runs/session on Saturday is: If, at 12:00 noon, the track is cold, i.e., the first run is done, then we will consult the stewards about changing the schedule to try for three runs total for Saturday.
If the track is still hot at 12:15pm, or the stewards decline, then we stick to the schedule, which is two runs total for Saturday. If you plan to offer us advice on how it really should be done, then please post in this thread or e-mail now rather than trying to see us at 12:14pm Saturday. The organizing committee is open.
On Sunday, we will reduce, but not eliminate, the warm-up time if necessary to try to fit in three runs.
If there is a delay with the results on Sunday, we may have to shift the Sunday awards ceremony to the golf club (which is nice, same place as last year, same 1/4 BBQ chicken). We prefer to do the awards at the track, but keep in mind that everyone must be out of the track by 7:00pm.

The posted registration probably has your Ontario class, not your national class. Please advise wrckid01@hotmail.com and baldheadracing@seko.ca of your National class ASAP, please.
Also, sending baldheadracing@seko.ca updated emergency contact name and phone number information will save time in registration (hint, hint).
Any questions, please post here or contact myself or the other two members of the organizing committee, Nancy and Guillaume.
See you at Calabogie!

Not sure if this is of concern or not, but both my brother and I are listed as driving incorrect vehicles on the registration list.
(Correct vehicle is 2001 Ford Mustang)

Oh .. and if you are sharing a vehicle, please advise wrckid01@hotmail.com and baldheadracing@seko.ca
I'll fix the car and sharing.

Where do we find our classification for the nationals?
Or if anyones knows, what's the equivalent of SGT3?

Are TRAC and Talon stickers available at registration for door prize eligibility?

I believe that national rules are the same as ours, but you are NOT charged aero pips, and you are not given a break for using tires other than ubers.

You are correct sir.
Best thing to do is take your final PIP's before subtracting for tires, subtract any aero PIPs and that will be your final PIP level for the Nationals.

Sorry to be a pain Craig. The class is also wrong for both Andy and I. We submitted a Car Classification online showing that it is a GT3 car. Could we please get this corrected?
Thank you!

Hey Craig,
I may have missed it, but it may be worthwhile to mention that CMP requires all drivers to wear gloves.
Seen guys caught by that before.
I will bring extra sets in case people are missing them.

Is that a new rule? That wasn't required at last years Solosprint event.
If so, thanks for bringing that up, because I generally don't bring gloves.

They've never once asked me or anyone else to wear gloves. First I've heard of this.

The following info is wrong for me:
Michael S HADA 136 0 0 GT1 1998 Honda CivicDX
I'm actually driving an '04 BMW M3 in SGT2.
Also, I'm not sure how the whole negative tire pip thing works for Ontario though, I'm running RA1s. Does that move me down for Ontario at all?

Carl, stop that!
EVERYONE: I have confirmed with Jane at Calabogie that gloves are NOT a requirement for the SoloSprint Nationals.
However, Trac Racing Depot does make a fine glove, as all class winners will find out. :)

Hey sorry about that but I have been to CMP for 6 days of track time, in different scenarios and they have asked for gloves everytime. I am not making this stuff up.
If they have changed there policy, thats cool, but if you ask the CADL gang , last year when the FSAQ went for lapping, it was a big problem.
When CMP/Rapid Intervention organised a school in Oct 2007, same thing, people were scrambling for gloves........
In any case, if you ask people to dress from shoulder to toe in clothing, why not the hands too?
I was just trying to be helpful as I am fielding last minute emails from FSAQ competitors that need gloves for CMP.
oK, back to normal programming.

Personally, face and hands were the first thing to receive fire protection. Gotta stay pretty, you know.

Weather looks like crap on friday, but good for the weekend. I hope it stays that way! (can you tell i'm bitter about not lapping friday?)

Carl, I have no reason to doubt you, which is why I called the track. I suspect the events you are referring to were 'similar-to-race' events. The CADL lapping last year was during a race weekend, IIRC.
As for the rationale for the rule, well, that's best left for another time ...

I don't need to have TWO pairs of gloves, so why should I rush out to buy some before the weekend, just to win another set at the end of the weekend???
:p
Since our event is run under SoloSprint regulations, I don't see why we'd have to follow some other set of rules. The sound rule I understand, because that's public relations with the neighbours, and isn't a "driver/safety" issue.

Hey Craig,
I'm miss-classed again as GT2, I should be in T1 (ontario).
Thanks.

It looks like Friday lappers will be learning the wet line... and from my experience at Calabogie... there are multiple lines even just in the dry!
The countdown to Sat morning is on..... can't wait to see you guys again!

I must have missed the Friday schedule somewhere. I know it's not officially part of the event, but is an agenda posted?
Start times, driver meetings, end time, etc?
Thanks,
Walter
