TMP is clamping down on excessive noise this season. I was at an event in June and nearly found out the hard way.
If memory serves, TMP is strictly enforcing the following dB levels at ALL events (this should be in our contract if someone can verify).
50' = 90dB
5m = 100dB
Those could be slightly off, but they are pretty close. Anyone with any sort of exhaust work should probably find a buddy with a dB meter and do some testing. It is guaranteed that TMP will be testing any and all cars that they feel are borderline, and if you're over, you're probably done for the day.

They seem to be inconsistant....I was there for their June Opening lapping and they were testing all cars. They even wanted to test mine and my exhaust is stock. They test you by standing beside your car and have you rev to redline. Then once more time standing behind you. I got away with it by saying I was already tested when they asked me.
They did it right by the last corner and were getting false readings because of the cars driving by. What pissed me off is that they told us after we paid and started lapping not before hand.
Bunch of amateurs!
Anyhow I was there this past Saturday (pics (http://168.144.104.48/maxrpm/2003/tmp071203.htm) )and Sunday and there was no testing what so ever.:confused:

The TMP track is right next to the dragway isnt it? I dont know of to many drag cars that meet a 90db limit (no where near), so why pick on the road guys? Seems weird to me.

This is a good example of how not to build a racetrack without a permit...
The whole Cayuga township is pretty wacky. My uncle works for the township, so I hear all the crap that goes on, most of which the public never hears about.

We hear some stories from track management, and I'm sure there are a pile more.
The best one I heard was someone complaining about the noise level, and a track worker went to their house with the noise meter. The loudest reading came from the crickets in her own yard.
