Convertable question...

Hi Folks, One of my friends is interested in getting into the sport, but is wondering exactly what the requirements are if you have a convertable. Does he need a roll cage installed? a roll bar? or just the roof in the up position? If the car has emergency roll over protection, i.e. M3 where the roll bar comes out of top of the seat in the event of a roll over, is that adequate?

Roll bars are required for convertibles. (Section 1.3.1)

Roll cages are recommended for cars that require roll bars. (Section 1.3.21)
