I saw this URL on one of the cars running yesterday, and just wanted to say thanks for an extremely fun day.

I was the unskilled driver in the Black IS300 that crossed the timing lights sideways on my 2nd run. The IS300 is not my car I borrowed it from my dad so I could come and participate as my Focus is awaiting a replacement tire after a sidewall failure.

I hope to make it out with the Focus to at least one of the events next weekend to continue my education. I did learn a few very important things yesterday.
1 walk the track more than once.
2 give yourself time to prepare before you start your run. I was late to the lane rushed everything and got lost on the slalom of all places.
3 marshal early, I learned so much while I was out watching the other cars out on course.

I do have pictures and video which I will host on my website later this week.

One last question are all the courses like this so long and flowing? I thought AutoX was going to be more of a tight twist course?

Anyway thanks for a great day I'll be back for sure.

I noticed you there, it was good having another IS300 to race against (I'm the guy in the blue IS300).

I find that I DNF my first run every time, even if I walk the course 2-3 times beforehand. It just looks so much different at 60-80km/h then at walking speed.

As for the long & flowing courses, that seems to a topic of much debate here :) This course was definitely much wider and faster than the other 2 I've been to.

Hi There,

I'm the guy in the Legacy. Nice to see you there. This course has not been the typical type of layout. It's actually the first / most fun layout so far (even Marsh agrees on this one).

Other layouts are usually tighter.

But, glad you're addicted. See you at the next one.

Hhehehe that was probably my car. I am glad some one is noticing it and found there way here. Good to see you enjoyed yourself especially in the rain.

Well what ever it may be we are both trying to do the same thing. Also all my stickers are on my 3/4 windows so if I ever have to sell the car (I don't think anyone would buy it though) all I have to do is take a razor black and peel them off(no sun fade either) but if I had a cool car like his I would probably put some sticker on it to.

How does this sound....

Two days after I screwed up my knee, a friend of mine in California took me to my first auto-X in his 300-ZX.

When I got back to Canada, I traded a Buick for my RX-7.

My first season (2001) I competed with a cane and a handicap parking permit in the windshield. I won my class and finished 3rd in the Rookie of the year that season. I seem to remember spending a lot of money to park at the airport in T.O. so I could fly from Sault Ste. Marie to Toronto and back to get to a Solo II event in Woodstock. I think that weekend cost me the better part of $1000. :)

This year I was able to make it down south for one weekend to get to a PITL and a SOLO II double. When one is out of work, $500 is a lot of money. :) Unfortunately there are no parking lots big enough up here and I'm too poor to pave a few acres of land up here. :(
