Hey all,
How much difference do poly bushings make over OEM? Of course, There is no kits for the Legend, but Honda does tend to reuse parts, so I could probably mix and match form other cars.
On a similar note, does anyone have a way to cross-reference Honda part numbers to see which bushings are the same part numbers as the Legend?
Also, which bushings do you replace ... all of them?
Arek, you can use the online parts catalog found at www.hondaautomotiveparts.com (Majestic Honda in the States) to cross-reference bushing parts #'s with those of Hondas (might try the Prelude, Accord, and maybe even the Odyssey), but first you'll need to call your local Acura dealership and get the parts # for your car. I don't know of any online source for Acura parts #'s, unfortunately.
The most important bushings to replace or go poly with are the front lower control arm bushings and the rear trailing arm bushing. The sway bar bushings would also be worth replacing with poly if you upgrade the swaybars at any point.
The downside to poly bushings is they're noisy on the street and they do have a tendency to tear out from heavy use, such as racing. Be prepared to keep a close eye on them, if you do go poly. But they do give the car a much more connected feeling and provides a much more immediate and crisp response at turn-in.
Just going with fresh OE bushings will make a big difference if your car is high mileage and your bushings are looking tired. If you car was a trailer queen then I'd say go with spherical bearings or poly bushings, but for a street car poly bushings really aren't too comfortable at all.

Hmmm ... interresting. The Acura version is here http://acuraautomotiveparts.org/ in case anyone else is interrested. Unfortunately, the part numbers listed on those pages are not manufacturer part numbers .... I called the local Acura dealer with those numbers, and they did not coincide. They must be their own numbers. The good thing is that they seem to use the exact same system, so maybe the part number will at least match between the Honda and Acura sites.
The hunt begins ... thanks Dave (until my ass is sore from potholes, then it'll be curse you, Dave!)!

I got poly bushings on my Fiero, it make a hell of a difference, bump steer is a lot less, and rear behaives in a more predictable manner. I also got poly engine mount, that was not smart of me, cause the vibrations at idle are trecherous but once you hit the gas u can feel the power getting to the wheels. I think they are amazing on the track and pretty good on the street :o)

The progress group makes a set of spherical bushings for my crx-its a trailer queen so what the hell right Dave.
actually Tom, you might want to talk to Pat Yorke about those Progress spherical bearings. He's using them on his Civic but I think he's found them to be an incredible pain in the ass because the bearings are a non-standard size, so replacing them requires ordering expensive ones from Progress. I think Pat is looking into having custom spherical bearings made that use standard size bearings now, so he can avoid this frustration.
But yeah, if she's a trailer queen then why not go all out on the suspension! :)

Oh yeah Dave,I'd rather spend time/effort and a relatively small amount of cash on suspension tuning-engine work is just way to expensive:D
