PITL event #6 goes this Saturday at Bramalea Go Station.
Hope to see all there.

I would be pleased to hear from anybody that would allow me to co-drive :D for this event.
I have had a great time with the other volunteers.

Thanks to all 55 drivers who came out! It was our biggest event of the year....in the middle of October. Who knew! And a special thanks to Greg for offering up his car for the shootout. It's a shame it wasn't working well, I know I could have won in that car! :)

And huge props go out to DareBee for the 2008 overall title. He beat 4 very good drivers in 4 very different cars this season, then managed to convince the powers-that-be to use an RX-7 in the shootout. For those that weren't able to catch the final:

DB Run 1: 62.344
RM Run 1: 62.833
DB Run 2: 61.345
RM Run 2: 61.455

Watch for an email about our banquet in the coming weeks!

Thanks to the organizers for another fun event and season!

I can't believe I managed to get a sunburn in October.

Follow this link for my videos of the event.

There are videos of my usual on-boards, some enthusiastic off courses, Mike having a "moment", and the shootout runs.

Thanks to all the people who allowed me to test (abuse) their great cars. I was thoroughly impressed by all of them and understand why they chose those rides.
I had a lot of fun (and a few self inflicted frustrations).

There was no convincing involved, I was against using DDs car because the last 10AE I drove I absolutely hated it. It was stock though. I was happily surprised to see that some aftermarket tuning made the car very nice indeed.

I expect to have my red sideways back next year and my hosts are welcome to take my return favour.

The shoot out was awsome. ONE TENTH! Nice driving guys!

Steve nice vids! Here are the vids I got from the event before my battery died! When I have the time I want to make a compilation of all the PITL vids I got this season. But for now heres the un edited runs from saturday.

Do you (or anyone else) have the software to overlay the last two shootout runs over each other? Even a split screen would do. I think it would be really cool to see!

That would be wicked to see synced for time.

It would probably be surprising as well (I know where my biggest screw ups were).

I've watched it side-by-side on 2 separate players and tried to sync them as best I can, but it's never 100%. You can still see the differences though.

Dave,

No problem! It was my pleasure. You guys all got some sweet runs with mine and Steves cameras on your cars. Check out Steven T's vid! His shifting is insane. I think he might be THE STIG!!!

The magic of television:
http://www.ironside.ca/stephen/PITL%20Oct%2018/Shootout.MP4

I did the editing on mute, so I don't know why the audio is screwed up... I got the start beam as close as I could, you can tell where the battle went back and forth, unfortunatly I had a bad angle to see the finish beam.

If you right click and save as, you should be able to view the video full screen.

Great job Steve

Just as I figured, I left a good 1/2 second at the start to the slalom and RM nailed it.

I know that it was mentioned that for next season that the PITL was trying to secure a lot for next year and were looking for suggestions. There is a nice sized lot across from Ikea on the Queensway that would be a good spot. However I am not sure who the owner of the lot ls.

Just a thought.
