Okay, so I just got my Azenis... I want to use them for the first time at the WOSCA solo-II event Sunday.

Would it be better to use them for the first time on the track, or should I slap them on beforehand and break them in a bit on the 35 mile drive to Woodstock? Do these things need to be heat-cycled like "real" R-compounds do?

They do not need to be heat cycled. (I inquired about this when I got my set)

Personally, I use my Azenis' for street & autocross. I don't mind driving on them daily since they're so cheap I can afford a new set next spring and since I needed new street tires anyway.

At first, I was hesitant to push them in the rain, but they really do have some great grip, don't let the treadblocks fool you.

Anyway, I hope you have as much fun on these tires as I am!

I didn't do any heat cycling on mine last year, they will likely be a little greasy untill the mold release agents are burnt off.
