Ron Shantz passed away on January 18th. I'm not sure if anyone on here would know or remember him, but here's a brief summary of his racing history:
- 1968 and 69 he began racing in a Mini Cooper S.
- 1970 he won the Canadian under 2 litre championship.
- 1971 he raced his car and Rob Tanner's Mk 1 Escort twin cam
- 1972 built and raced a Datsun 1200 and won the Ontario Region 'C' Sedan and overall championships and the Canadian National 'C' Sedan championship.
- 1973 raced a Lotus 69B Formula B car (later called Formula Atlantic) and finished 7th in the Player's Challenge Series
Ron was a member of the Grand Valley Car Club. In addition to all this he and my father ran Auto Race Developments.
The funeral is Saturday, January 24th at 12:30pm at Henry Walser Funeral Home in Kitchener. Visitation is Friday from 7pm to 9pm and Saturday from 11am to 12:15pm.

If anyone knows of someone who may have known Ron but isn't on this board, please feel free to pass this message along.
Thanks
