Please note that the Solo Ontario Top Gun Shoot Out date has changed.

The new date is October 5th 2003 at Mosport's Driver Development Track and Skid Pad. Further Details to follow.

Also the Solo 2 Event Calander has some changes and additions made to it (specifically MCO and WOSCA's dates, among other small changes)

So what's it gonna take for me to get into this event this year? It sounds like such a cool setup, I just have to go in Tom's car this time.

Darren, to qualify you need to score 95 points or better at a regional Solo 2 or Solo 1 event or be a club series winner (ie. PITL, WOSCA, C4, etc) if we're using the same criteria as last year. I'm sure you can score this well in Babzy's car at Cayuga on the 23/24th or maybe you'll win the PITL series and qualify that way. Alternatively, there are special invitations issued as well so maybe I could mislabel Tony's and send it to your house instead :p

I'll just win PITL, that's cool. What would I have to do at the Solo1 to score 95 points? Won't I be running against Vette's or sumthin'?

No, you run in class there too. I have qualifying scores in both Solo I and Solo II

How do you mean win pitl? like just your class? So if I win my class at Pitl does that mean I would be able to qualify for the shoot out? I am Qed for the solo2 stuff so I am not worried I am just curious in case I asked question that may shed more light.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think last year we accepted class winners, not just the overall winner, from club series like PITL. Wes or Robb, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyway, I'm really not sure what the criteria will be for qualifying this year, but the discipline directors will publicize this as soon as the necessary decisions have been made.

Cheers,
Dave

Don't you need to be series registered to go to the shoot-out? I.E. if someone shows up at one regional all year, pays their $5 to be scored and gets 95%, are they in for the shoot-out, or do they need to register for the whole series? (a WOSCA member want's to do this, that's why I ask.)

Does that count for TLMC Slaloms too, I've won a couple this year (in my class) and am currently the overall points leader (but not for long).

I'm not sure if I've scored 95 points or better at a regional, probably not, maybe I don't even get scored since I'm not series registered, I've only been to the 3 (HADA, WOSCA and CCC)

Invitees cannot win the prizes.

Invitees COULD consist of club class winners if, for example, if they won their class for many years or the Solo commitee deemed them worthy. We talked about inviting series champions (again with no chance of the grand prizes).

You are required to score 95 points or better from events in one of the following ways; if you are series registered for the regional solo 2 series, pay the event fee (or have the club pay it for you as HADA, and WOSCA did) at a regional Solo 2 event or participated in a Solo 1 event. to qualify.

If you are a class champion at a club series, you probably won't be invited. This is a regional top gun shoot-out, not a club event!

I guess I'll have to wait and see if I'm worthy or not. Sorry to open this can of worms guys.

Given the number of people who qualify with 95 or better points, I think it is safe to say that club class champions will not be invited. Series Champions........maybe.

If we are expecting 75 competitors or more (which we are likely expecting this year), then invitations will probably not be extended.

What would the point of series registering or paying for the event if we let anyone who showed up for a club event or two run in the shoot out. The invitation was something that was extended last year because the numbers didn't look overly promising, but this year is a total different story. Way more competitors have registered at the event level (due to the clubs paying the event fee).

If you want to qualify, come out and pay for the event scoring fee and score 95 points or better.

Also, numbers will be capped to make sure that the event is worth while for those that did qualify (number yet to be set).

Since I scored 96+ points at the one regional that I did do, does that mean I qualify?

If you go to the "Points By Event Standings" , if there is a Q beside you name, you have qualified.

One further note......in order to participate in the Shoot-out, you MUST be a member of a CASC-OR affiliated club and the Solo 2 or Solo 1 Registrar MUST have you club affiliation listed in the series results.

(Take a look through the results and if your club affiliation is not listed, please inform Wendy Smith of your club affiliation at wendy@racerrobb.com)

If your not a member of an affiliated club, you might wnat to read the rule book which outlines all this.

Steve, if you've scored 95 points or higher at any Solo 1 events this year, which I'm sure you have since you weren't far behind at all on Saturday at Cayuga, then you've qualified for the Shoot-Out.

Cheers,
Dave

What club is TMC?
Are MSOC/RX7/SPDA actually CASC-OR affiliated?

There's a complete list of all CASC-OR affiliated clubs at:

Actually if you are not a member of an affiliated club, you will be taken out of all series results as well.

SPDA is not CASC affiliated this year.. It will be next year. All our members had to sign up with TAC, like myself. My member number is 171.

Oh well....
