Which tires would be considered "ubers" ?

Any DOT approved tire that has one or more circumferential grooves instead of a tread pattern. Examples are Hoosier A6, R6, Kumho V710, BFG R1, Avon Tech RA. If you have 2008 Rulebook handy it is section 4.9.2.11 on page 30.

I believe they are referred to as "Premium R-Compound Tires" in the rulebook. The list should not change for 2009, but we won't know for sure until the 2009 rules are out.
